Tip of the Week:

Please always be at alert whenever your are on a motobyke, incase of any eventuality, the okada man will save himself first. This is the season of accidents, be careful!!!!

CONSEQUENCES OF OKADA ACCIDENTS

Once the collision has occurred, or the rider has lost control through some other mishap, several common types of injury occur when the bike falls:

Collision with less forgiving protective barriers, or badly placed roadside "furniture" (lampposts, signs, fences etc.) This is often simply a result of poor road design, and can be engineered out to a large degree. Note that when one falls off a motorcycle in the middle of a curve, lamps and signs create a "wall" of sorts with little chance to avoid slamming against a pole.
Concussion and brain damage, as the head violently contacts other vehicles or objects. This risk is massively reduced by wearing properly fitting, standards-approved head protection.
Breakage of joints (elbows, shoulders, hips, knees and wrists), fingers, spine and neck, for the same reason. The most common breakages are the shoulder and the pelvis.
Soft tissue (skin and muscle) damage (road rash) as the body slides across the surface at speed. This can be prevented entirely with the proper use of motorcycle-specific protective apparel such as a leather jacket or reinforced denim and textile pants. There is also a condition known as biker's arm, where the nerves in the upper arm are damaged during the fall, causing a permanent paralysis of arm movement.
Facial disfigurement, if in the absence of a full-face helmet, the unprotected face slides across the ground. Note though that this is in fact quite a rare occurrence.

Enjoy your weekend.

hello angel girl  i had a serious accident on the 16 of may 2007 its such a terrible experience  that when i think of it i feel so scared. I was knocked down by a vehicle and i lost my front tooth, i get scared even to wear the dresses i put on, on the day of the accident and each time i want to cross the road i must remember that day. any time i eat i remember the accident day because the artificial tooth i now have in  place of my tooth disturbs a bit .

Take heart my dear, and be grateful that its just a tooth, i have seen some who lost the whole of their front teeth. my mum lost a tooth too, but she is using a permanent artificial. Make enquiries about it and see if it will help you . Cheers.

Tips For Fracture Cases: I know we have very good traditional bone setters, but please i will advice to always go to the hospital for proper treatment medical treatment of fracture cases, my case is an example.

A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET!
On the fateful day of June 21, 2002, i was going to work from festac to surulere, on getting to Orile the Traffic was too much, i had to take a bike from Doyin Orile to Alhaji Masha, since my office was around that location, i was so deep in thought as the bike man was negotiating a bend by Fountain School, a car with a lady driver was also was coming towards us from the other side of the bend, before i knew what was happening i saw myself on the floor swiming in the pool of my own blood, on that day, come and see lagos lookers! i thought i was going to die! About fainting from loss of blood, God sent me an Angel!
