Someone asked a question about Nigerian Engineers. Simple, d best students r not d ones practising cos of d meagre take home pay of young Engineers most especially consulting Engineers. Y would u b paid 30/40k when u can get times 5 in banking/oil n gas /telecoms sector, yet d older would want u to grow at their pace cos they feel they r doing u a great favour by employing/'teaching' u. D smart ones will always move, it takes passion to remain in such system. Simple reason y our Engineering is backward, there r others tho.

LAGOS PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS FORTUNATE PEOPLE TO HAVE GOVERNORS FULL OF POSITIVE VISIONS AND SOME PEOPLE ARE STILL COMPLAINING. HA NA WAH O O O!

WHEN IBORI WAS GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE PEOPLE CRITICIZED HIM FOR DOING GOOD WORKS IN THE STATE.

NOW PEOPLE ARE LAMENTING AND REGREATING WHY GOD HAS ALLOWED UNPRODUCTIVE UDUHAGA TO BE RULING THEM.

YOU WILL  NEVER KNOW THE VALUE OF WHAT YOU HAVE UNTIL YOU HAVE LOST IT.

NIGERIANS SHOULD LEARN TO APPRECIATE WHAT THEY HAVE.

PRAY AND ENCOURAGE THE LEADERS THAT ARE TRYING TO DEVELOP THE SOCIETY.

FASHOLA WELLDONE SIR.

MORE GRACE TO YOUR ADMINISTRATION.

EKO O NI BAJE O!

This is what we call damage limitation. Fashola has goofed over the Lekki toll debacle and he is now trying to pacify Lekki I residents who are in the forefront of opposition against tolling on Lekki-Epe expressway by subtly informing them that the bridge that will link them to Ikoyi(thereby avoiding tolling) will soon be completed. You know, he just might get away with this plan because Nigerians are notoriously selfish- you disagree? Ask Lugard through his literature.

@Eko ile. You are very controversial human being. you said 80% completion, what yardstick or parameter did you use to arrive at that 80%. from the pictures you posted, the project is nothing near 80%,May be you should have said the project is now at an advance stage rather than saying 80% completion, to me. you said this to mislead people of Lagos. It is a fact that some people but excluding the masses, agreed that fashola is doing wonderfully well in the state but to the detriment of the poor masses. i will advice that you should always ensure you are sure of something before you post it here.

No, I meant what I posted.

Who do you go with?

The engineers constructing the bridge and Julius Berger or some Olodo on NL.

I need you to answer that
Well, from the pics that you posted, it looks nothing close to 80%

Truely, people do not know what they have.
Fashola, with all the nonsense he has to contend with, is moving Lagos forward bit by bit.

I think Lagosians are beginning to take the good they have for granted.
Have you been to Jos, Makurdi, Jalingo, Abeokuta etc?

Development takes time. And it costs something. Don't forget that the PDP central government in Abuja is not doing anything for Lagos.
Maybe some of you do not remember the Lagos of old.

I make it a point to visit the bridge once a week. All that's left now is the final span across the creek. Initially I thought it wasn't going to be a suspension bridge because the part that curves around the bight is built on pillars, but it seems the section that spans the creek will indeed be suspended. By the way, it appears the bridge will not terminate @ Osborne, rather it seems it will terminate @ Alexander Avenue.

Yes, the exit is actually at Alexander Avenue-but then again not far off from Osborne. My hope is that traffic does not start building up around that end once the bridge is completed.

It's a good project no doubt, most especially for Lekki residents. And i'm sure it will in no time turn into a great landmark for the state.

However, the government needs to engage residents and let us know if we are going to pay tolls to cross this bridge. The key question now is, will it be a toll bridge?

Let me refer you to a similar question asked about this time last year:

LIES LIES AND ALL LIE!!!!!!!!! Angry

THE PICTURES POSTED ARE THE ALREADY COMPLETED 'N2.5B RAMP' AT FALOMO AND ARTIST IMPRESSIONS OF THE SO CALLED IKOYI LINK BRIDGE FOR WHICH ONLY 105 OF THE WORK HAS BEEN DONE!!!

THIS CHEAP PROPAGANDA BY FASHOLA AND HIS LIKES  (EKOILE) WOULD NOT WORK!!!

YOUR SINS SHALL DEFINITELY FIND YOU OUT SOONEST!
I was wondering if you went to the same school with Obanikoro, or probably you are his PA-- that will be too bad for you.
What is a ramp?
Even if falomo link is a ramp, can obanikoro ever have that initiative?

You can't really see the bridge from those pics posted earlier. You have to go to the crescent opposite. I took these pics about a week and a half ago. Please forgive me for any mistakes, still getting used to posting pics here.

You can see that the bridge is supported by pillars at the point where it curves round the bight, but at the point where it spans the creek there are huge columns (presumably, the bridge will be supported from those columns).

Let me flip your question around. Do you know the mammoth revenue Nigeria generates by the minute from Oil? Out of the 140 or so countries that rank below Nigeria in the GDP rankings, how many are more developed than Nigeria, especially when compared to the European Countries on the list?

My point is, the revenue that you generate does not determine how advanced your country/economy is. Your advancement is determined mostly by what your leader does with the little or a lot that the country earns!

On the issue of taxation, you said you’re being multi-taxed; who isn’t? In the US, you’re taxed on almost EVERYTHING!
1. They tax your income at about 27-30%.
2. They tax the house you buy.
3. They tax the clothing that you buy.
4. They tax your foods and drinks.
5. They tax your water.
6. They tax your sewage.
7. They tax your phone bill.
8. They tax your car when you buy it.
9. They tax your yearly usage.
10. They tax your petrol.
11.   They tax corporate earnings and then tax you again when you get the dividends.

Even in New Hampshire that does not have State tax, they make up for it by obscenely taxing your real property!

Since time immemorial, people have been taxed by their government! How else do you expect the State/Country to meet their obligations?

To get a good view of the bridge, walk down Wole Olateju Crescent, Lekki Phase 1. You can't really see anything from the foot of the bridge, but the view is perfect from the crescent.

Do you know what % mean in construction language and what worked is part of that 80%?

What do you really know beyond your  lay many  take on some picture?

Are you a  construction engineering?

Are you julius berger?

Who do I trust?  The exparts  or some ignorant construction  engineer wannabee whose understanding of bridge construction starts and ends with a picture?

How re, tarded can some of you be?
