Rotary President Denied A Nigerian Visa!
« on: October 02, 2007, 05:39 PM »

Hi People,
Just got this information from a reliable source that the Nigerian High Commission in Canada has refused the President of Rotary International a visiting visa to Nigeria. Reason: Nigeria is not happy with the way Nigerians are treated by the Visa Section of the Canadian High commission in Nigeria. This has resulted in the cancellation of the president's scheduled visit to Nigeria this October. Grapevine information has it that this reason was boldly communicated to Rotary executives and the Canadian High commission in Nigeria.

What's your opinion on this? For me, I sincerely think this is a right step in the right direction. Myself being a victim of the highhandedness of  the "too know" Visa officers at #4, Anifowoshe Street.

The Nigerian High Commission is the best source to confirm.
I just an sent an email to the effect
Refusing the President of the Rotary club is not a welcome development because, Rotary  is a non profit organization whose corporate social responsibilities we all can testify.
We have all to lose.

This is wrong way to go about it. We should be diplomatic  and use some more clever ways to deal with this problem.

Can you come up with a list of reasons why they need us more than we need them?
