Confirming suspicions of how they can afford to bag all the gold medals during Olympic fests, here is the solid proof that they too can do anything to "win". I must commend the authorities for putting enough pressure on Marion Jones with their ongoing investigation to crack this story wide open. I must commend Marion Jones and her coach for also coming forward with their confessions and admissions. She was not caught and only confessed with mounting pressures around her. After 3 gold medals, this is what it has come down to! What a shame. I guess in Nigeria this would never happen. Even when caught, we will still tend to lie through our teeths. I guess this is a lesson for all. Remember that another athelete "Flo Jo" Florence Griffith Joyner after much speculations about using steriods, denied all allegations and ended up dying mysteriously from "seizures"!!!

Lol, i heard about that too. Trust me, most of these Americans use different stuff which help them perform well, like their artistes. That's why i don't blame naija singers anymore because lots of stuff people do over here are fake. Imagine a very famous athlete doin' such a thin'. I even heard about this issue in my chemistry class. Believe me, she's not d first. other people do it all d time just because they are not caught yet. Infact, athletes have been usin' cocaine and other drugs in America since the 19th century.There are lots of other cases. I wrote an essay on this particular case which is d latest.

Boy! do they cheat gooooooooood. And they say we have equal intelligence? When are we going to be able to use "witchcraft" to manufacture "undetectable" drugs to help Nigeria win Olympic events--or world cup soccer?  Americans will cheat to bring glory to itself and Nigeria will cheat to bring disgrace to itself.Not to condone what Marion Jones did--but to show how far America will go to make itself look good with a "collective silent conspiracy"--Tribalism will not let us sleep with our heads on one side of any bad. We cannot even perfect the 419 scheme without being caught 90% of the time. We need to get something right at least. |

hi almomjoy, being an athlete my self and understanding my sport and appreciating the effort sweat and if i can say blood that goes into the sport , IT is dishearting when you find your competitor is cheating!!! BUT IS IT a means of survival or it just greed  Remember the sponsorships , TV ads that go with the athlete and the pressure to stay on top!!! (STILL NOT AN EXCUSE TO TAKE PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS) I an strongly against drugs in the sport but have to Agree with you in some aspects, but America tends to come out tops in the 'drug taking' sport. However athletes that train over in the states be it from Nigeria BRITAIN Trinidad etc unfortunately best not to mention names but do your research and you'll see what i mean have all tested positive for so me form of drug or another and consequently banned for a period of time. unfortunately this will go on for a very long time to come , drugs are getting more and more sophisticated and athletes getting more SMART in their approach to taking performance drugs  |

Yup!
The saddest part is that most of these drugs cannot be detected so not telling how much longer the cheating will go on. A sad state of affairs indeed. Americans never fail to surprise me!
