Cowardly Nigerians
« on: March 15, 2006, 03:54 PM »

Aren't we Nigerians just a sorry lot of cowards? I mean why can't we face up and call a spade a spade, not an implement for digging?
I suppose thats why our country is in the state it's in. We are too docile and are willing to accept crumbs and handouts as our lot, instead of demanding our due. I don't see a future for Nigeria because we want God to come down literally and strike our corrupt leaders with bolts of lightning and reward the rest of us faithfuls.
What happened to people speaking out, protest marches, active opposition to anti-people policies, ? Rather we all take a piece of silver and start singing the devils tunes (and add a dance to boot, ). Everyone is happy with the status quo and it can and will only get worse. A people deserve whatever form of government they have, we have our bitter pill and by God we will continue swallowing it till a few brave ones step up.

@ hotangel
I already have, this is my way, and by questioning you lot if you know who you even voted for, why, etc. The current government in Brazil came about because the people were BRAVE enough to protest against bad and corrupt leadership- Simple.

@ afrobeat
Shocked What do you mean as hotangel said? Don't u have an opinion of your own? And what does 'as if na words person go chop' mean? Na only chop u sabi? Go on and "chop" ur future man, because that's what's goin on for the likes of u that are neither here nor there,

What have I done for Nigeria? More like what am I doing for Nigeria and what will I continue to do for Nigeria.
Am not "chopping" first of all and am a "whistle-blower", and believe it or not, am on the threshold of my biggest project- Getting into a position where I can make a difference (Not just sitting down and receiving flak for posting what I consider IDEAL).

What names do you want me to mention? aren't they obvious enough? off your fingers you can reel off the names one at a time.

By the way my opinion is that I agree with hot-angel and when you pass the threshold of your biggest project then start a new thread and tell us what you have done for Nigeria.

And according to dictionary.com

a Whistle Blower is:

An employee who has inside knowledge of illegal activities occurring within his or her organization and reports these to the public.

So what organisation's wrong doing have you revealed to us on this board? What have you said or pointed out that has not been said before. When you are able to show us the hiding place of one of the governor's stolen money then maybe you can call yourself a whistle -blower

Once again my opinion is that I agree with hot-angel when she says: Ranting here isn't going to help anything. Trust me. If you are going to talk then you better do as well.

Brazil is probably the worst example you could use of a people overthrowing a government and changing the status quo.

If you've read the news lately you'll know that Brazilians are still suffering under a corrupt government.

@ exu
So we might as well settle for the evil we know then? That seems to be the mindset of most Nigerians. Why not shuffle the pack abit and see what comes up?

@ idekeson
The protest is here man, no place else!

@ afrobeat
If you knew of particular cases, with clear cut characters and evidence, of what aid would that be to you? Perhaps we'D gloat over the people involved for a few days, then get bored. My talk emanates from where I am, not to the faceless www. All I can do on the www is create awareness and stir some conciousness. (www= World wide web)

Our consciousness is already at the brink of insanity. Lead the charge and lets make a difference, strongman!

Why Imoh Udoh was allowed to committed his dirty 419 scams which give the country of Nigeria very bad reputation?

What actions of any by the Nigerian Government in order to get rid of its 419 that has been going on for over 30 years since 1997 [late 1970s]? Huh Embarrassed Angry

I agree that we are all cowards,  everybody sits back and waits for "another person pikin" to lead the pack as if if things get better, na all of us go wan chop.

You don't have to do a big thing to make things better,  Little things in large numbers have more weight,  Why do you think the Niger Delta is not settled till date,  A minority of people creating trouble and everybody else sits back.

Abeg instead of waiting,  u self find something small to do for our country!!!
