What Business Should I Start: The Wrong Question You Should Be Asking! by rufaai(m): 3:38pm On Jan 13, 2012
I use to be an active Nairaland member, suddenly I got carried away by business work on my desk!  grin -- I saw a couple of post/topics by members asking if I have X amount, what business should I start? (That's WRONG).

First, I am not a business expert but I have been in business for 5yrs now and all I've been studying lately is business and i'm gonna be as brief as possible on this.

You see; business is not just an opinion or a way of doubling your money, in fact; business is not just about money. It's about passion, and desire to make other people's life better in a way that you best can. Even if what you do can make you money, it won't last you'd soon get bored doing it or even quit when it gets tough.

I'd share a story with you of RedTagCrazy, a company started by a man called Eric Ingram who was making over $800,000 in revenue, yet collapsed because he was on a game he didn't like in the first place; but because it generated money, eric went for it. ( More: http://redtagcrazy.com/blog/2011/03/28/rise-and-fall/)

So, my little advice for you; if you want to start a business, do what you are passionate about, what you love and could do even without any gain. Sooner or later you'd find success and your dreams will come true. I remember the quote, "If all you think about is the money, you'd soon run out of its sources" and "if someone has to convince you that starting your own business is the best thing, then it probably isn't"

I think you should keep your money, safe.

If you really want to start a business, then do what you love not what works for someone else!

Goodluck, I'm Ahmad Mukoshy (http://mukoshy.com). I also blog about my learning process in business at http://typr.us OR you could also follow http://twitter.com/mukoshy.

Thank you.
