This Tutorial Will Teach You How To Play Playstation Cd's From Your Cd Drive.

You will need:

I. ePSXe - http://63.246.151.9:81/83402765/Emu, ators/ePSXe.zip
A. BIOS - http://mirror.emuparadise.org/biosf, os_SCPH1001.zip
B. Graphics Plugin - http://www.ngemu.com/psx/epsxe.php?action=Plugins
C. Sound Plugin - http://www.ngemu.com/psx/epsxe.php?action=plugins

Download the ePSXe emulator and the PSX BIOS. Click the link for the graphics Plugin. Select the Plugin that works with your graphics card. Note that these plugins make the graphics WAY better than it would look on a playstation. Now you're going to need a sound plugin. Click the sound plugin's link and scroll down until you reach the sound plugin's section. Once again, download the plugin that corresponds with your sound card.

Now that you have all the files needed, you need to install them/put them in the corresponding folders. Install ePSXe, move your BIOS file to the BIOS folder. Move your sound and graphics plugins to the plugins folder.

You now need to configure your BIOS and plugins. Run ePSXe. Under the "config" menu, click "wizard guide". Once in the guide, click "config>>", click the bios you selected, click "Next >>". Click your graphics plugin, click "config", and make the proper settings. Click "ok" then "Next >>". Select your sound plugin and configure it, then click "Next >>". Select the default ePSXe CD plugin. Click configure, then ok, then "Next >>".

Now we need to configure the controls. The hardest part is this, figuring out what is the best keyboard configuration for a PSX controller. I have figured out a good control set-up though.

Controls:

To make playing this even easier, you can do what I am going to do and make an adapter for your PSX controller. To learn how to do this, go to http://narx.net/~mike/projects/psxadaptor/. If you are like others and are to damn lazy go to http://www.electricquarter.com/psusb.htm or http://www.stepmania.com/stepmania/, tle=USBAdapters to purchase one.

Now that you have everything configured, you can put a CD in your drive, then select run CD-ROM.

Legal Notice: It is perfectly legal to have a BIOS if you own a PSX. It is also perfectly legal to make .iso's of games that you already own, so long as you don't distribute them to others.

Extra Software:
Alcohol 120% - You can use this program to make back-up .iso's of your games.

Please note that this only a free trial.

Connectix is still the best emulator for PSX.  Sony and Connectix went hand in hand after the lawsuit that occurred in '99.  For some games, it plays better than the PSX itself.  And some, it wouldn't even play.
