IMHO I actually expect a lot more than one senator on Nairaland as the site has almost 145,000 members. Only they might not be active members, as the National egunje is still hot on the table.

145,000 members, Nigerian population 140 million, number of senators 109.
doing a simple proportionality calculation, you would expect only 0.2 senators to be present in proportion to the general population. I don't think a single senator is a member.

It is possible for anyone to be in either forums, social networking sites, or even a blog since IP netver tells who is who.
And you can choose to be who ever you want to be.
Even if a president is in Nairaland I won't argue it; not necessarily a Nigerian. It could be anyone from any country. They are human just like anyone. So it is nothing new.
Internet is not ready to reveal who is who.
Prince Charles is a regular Blogger so he will most definitely be a member inĀ a forum or might be an admin.
They are not workaholics and do not spend all their times in the House of Parties as you must have thought.
It is nothing special and besides internet gives you another life.
Somebody replied a post saying most of them do not know anything about computer. Have you forgotten that if not all, half atleast claim they studied in either UK or US? And this present age of computer everything is becoming easier.
It takes less than 2 minute to register in forum and probably 3 minutes to register in a Social networking sites. Even an illiterate of this our generation can operate the computer when it comes to Desktop publishing; provided he/she understands english.
@least in this same Nairaland I met a person working for NASRDA and a 2007 Governorship candidate who is constant on Nairaland; including 2 key persons from the Niger Delta who owns a website and runs the website themselves.
I am not saying this to convince you. I only want you to know that they are not chumps like you thought.

it does not matter if obj is a member of nairaland. the senators in question are part of the corrupt society which condem here so hearing it from us makes no difference as they will always know it before us so are we telling them or reminding them? the only valuable complain here will be the ones we make to God not to the senators. please tell me, are we telling the senators that obj hand picked almost all the political leaders in nigeria? are we telling them that what Iwu conduted does not in anyway suit the definition of election? are we telling the senators that they do not come out with any reasonable law from january to december or are we telling them that all of them are landlords abroad within their time in the house? ok let us tell them that etteh did very bad in over-looking the law she swore to protect and gave out contracts illegally? or tell your senator here that he has been in the house sharing the national cake mearnt for his constuitency. if anyone us here is a senator, let him go ahead and identify himself wth full details to enable us tell him what we feel about the house and the political situation in nigeria and make out time to compare it to other countries of the world where the resources are shared with ghana must go bags to those who claim to be la makers. if he is here for real, let him know that the so called law makers in nigeria does not fit in that name rather they can be best addressed as law breakers.

My thoughts actually. We don't give a damn. Topics like this reminds me of the great divide in Nigeria today, between the rich and the poor-, thats the cause why most of the population respect money and power and not integrity. It should be deleted.

You know threads like this advances to something good.
It is not compulsory that conversations to take effect directly from Nairaland or anyother forums. Did you know that Newspaper editors & Journalists visit forums to know the opinions of the people.
Although, we may think nobody seem to be listening or reading to us. But everything we've all said will definitely take effect. When? Is only what we do not know.
We must not lay low and expect magic to happen.
Even Yar' adua who tends to want a new face for the country at the moment (though, we do not know if it is for personal reasons) must have in one way or the other found or read and seen complains from the people of the country before he made his decision.
Lets just hope for good times
