Interested In Old Naira Notes And Coins (Collector)
« on: March 17, 2006, 04:26 AM »

hi everybody am very interested in anyone who has old naira notes and coins,  if anyone has the first version of the 1 naira note i will really be interested and will be willing to trade on it. in fact any of the notes at the following link,

http://www.cenbank.org/currencymgt/thumbnails_77notes.htm

(in between the notes remind of when naira was not completely rubbished - in terms of the value: just so the patriotics in the house don't land me yabbis)

any paper money collectors in the house???

Judging from the picture of the Nigerian "pound" note you posted, you are also interested in currency notes and coins from the pre-colonial era, such as the "pound", the "shilling", right?  And old coins like the 5 kobo, 10 kobo, and 25 kobo coins as well as the 1 naira note, right?

What about recent ones like the 50k and 1 naira coins or the clean specimens of the 5 naira note that is quickly going extinct because it's too costly for the CBN to produce?

I have two One naira notes so I wouldnt mind giving one away. They are in normal condition which means a bit old but not torn.

What would you be interested in trading for it??

i have 10 one naira notes with serial numbers following each other, they are as clean and straight as mint. They were stored in an envelop for over a decade. What would you trade it for (just one)?
