Hello Fellow Nairalanders, I was the guy who posted a thread about my laptop being damaged by a friend of mine(or should i call him my enemy). After much persuation,my friend later said he would go and repair the screen of my laptop and then get back to me. Days after, i received a text message from him that someone had agreed to repair it for only N26,000, He later wrote in the text message that he has paid N12,000 and that i should try to pay N14,000 (Can you imagine). What should i do? Should i inform the police or , Please help me out.

Next time don't leave your laptop where your friend can sit on it. Just swallow the loss. You cannot turn a friend to an enemy over things like this. Is the friendship that worthless? Well most friendships are worthless, but still. After all he did not plan to sit on it. It was a mistake and he probably has no money. The police will suck more than the 14,000 naira you don't want to pay.

If I'm in your shoe i will take my laptop to someone who may want to repair it. Ask how much it will cost and maybe ask my friend how much he can afford in helping u get it repaired. if the amt is too much and your friend doesn't seem to have much, u can as well forgive and forget. I am sure he didn't damage it intentionally.
