Hi all,lets do some criticism here ok---what do you all feel about the female star cast of the rested hit series Sex and the city and that of the all new Desperate housewives?They both have common denominators which include middle aged women yearning for love! Samanta's character (sex and the city) can be likened to that of Eddie Britt (DH).These are 4 classy women who share friendship,romance and lunches  together in Newyork city against 5 desperate women who share friendship too,romance and a poker game once a week on wisteria lane Your views and comments are welcomed plzzzzzzz? |

I loved Sex and the City much better than the Desperate Housewives. Why?
Sex and the City is designated for all single women seeking for Mr. Right Guy. I liked hearing their sharing GOOFED dating experiences to meet variety of men and to explore men's characteristics and weakness that make me LAUGHING FALLING ON THE FLOOR. It reminded of me in the past during secondary school year to learn about men with my own mistakes. I was the same boat as those TV women characters on Sex and the City. I watched one or two seasons, but missed whole other seasons. Now i will soon buy DVD whole seasons trilogy myself to catch up.
The Desperate Housewives is designated for all married women i cannot stand watching them---because those women are married who fight over husbands or committed adultery, that is sick! I have not watch it the day it was first new release (first season) that turned me off.
You can see the difference but similar on friendship sharing, gossips, and male-bashing.

You know,you are right Odada & its only now that you've mentioned it that i see the similarities! I am a great fan of Desperate Housewives,but i would have to choose Sex & the City over the ladies of Wisteria Lane. I think SJP & her crew definitely made it such an entertaining series, & i feel that unlike DH there were funnier events & goings on & a greater variety & depth to each episode. I love you Susan Mayer but Carrie Bradshaw is my leading lady,  |

thanks to my sister, boredom and Nigerian piracy I've watched desperate housewives season 1-4. picked up sex and the city yesterday and after watching like 5 episodes I've decided that I've had my fill.
I'm ashamed to even admit i watch such stuff but the reality being what it is I'd say Desperate Housewives is definitely better than Sex And The City.
nevertheless I'd trade both of them in for "everybody hates Chris" any time any day!

Love both shows but SATC is da bomb, never lost its shhne for the entire six seasons it ran. DH is also hot but its only a matter of time before the ratings slip.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, hard to say. But, if I am pressed to do so. I will go along with DH. Its a lot more family friendly. The whole family can watch it without much stress. Its of 'cleaner fun' than SATC.

are u kidding me. The Mrs Solis (Gabriella) and her various sexscapades - what with the teeanger John, divorce, marriage to that politician, and then back in the arms of Carlos (Mr Solis), her tango with Eddie. Men she is da bomb. She is such a bad influence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me, the pick of the lot is Linet (hope I got that right) and her various travails. First, job loss to raise four kids (3 boys and a girl), her husband's loss of his job, her bout with cancer, her remission e.t.c. She is the stuff real people are made of. And, that is what makes DH a wholesome family entertainment.

LOL sorry but SATC remains the ultimate and all other carbon copies have yet to achieve it's status.
I still don't watch Desperate housewives I despise Teri Hatcher with a passion and can barely watch anything she's in.
