Right or wrong, women are judged by their looks and naturally young girls look better than old women. So when a woman has pre-occupied most of her time maintaining a youthful and radiant look, the last thing she'll do is to give it all up by revealing her true age. Knowing a woman's true age will make you see through all the make-up, plastic surgery, liposuction etc.

@ lioness: you're funny!  @ 2cantango: yea, that's true. think movie stars. like, er a certain Houston raised singer claims to be 1 or 2 younger than she actually is though I wouldn't name names of course. . . That's the funny part. When a "regular" woman does it then it's a big deal. When a famous woman does it, people act fooled, and bless 'em, they ain't fooling anyone. I just hope all this " black don't crack" stuff is true, er, at least for me. But when I was 16 my cuzzins swore I looked 12. Now I'm 21 and people just don't really know. I'd just much rather claim my age and look young. |

I quite agree with all of you. But I also feel that we all (not only women) lie about our ages because of the stringent and unrealistic (most of the time) age requirement of employers. In my opinion, employers should understand this society and get more real when talking about age for prespective employees. Asking for Mgt Trainee - 24yrs old!! Check am naww! How/Why wont people 'adjust' o fit in when there are no jobs here? In fact, me too! I am not innocent. 4give me abeg. Na Nigeria cause am. When the chips are down, we will 'regularise'.
