This chopper indeed look nice; lets see what becomes of it:
Note:
1. we have ministry of technology
2. we have defence industry
3. we have $47billion in foreign reserve
What I guess we dont have is 'LEADERSHIP'; lets see what yaradua can do.
Etteh can afford to renovate for N625million.
This guy can produce effective pro-types for N10million. and cost could come down if each state decide to buy one; to spray crops atleast to start with

NICE ONE DUDE,
But on the contrary this guys Helicopter brings my mind back to 1910, the whole thinks looks crude & dangerous. Aviation is not something to joke with because y'all know how it works once you are in the AIR.
THIS GUY SHOULDNT KILL SOMEONE ALL IN THE NAME OF INVENTION. REGULATORY BODIES SHOULD CERTIFY HIS WORK PROPERLY.

I am very impressed by this young man. God bless him. If many people are this dedicated to things, some of us on exile can return home. First we heard of "Igbo made Jeeps" now "hausa made choppers" This is highly impressive. I hope some rich business man invests in the lad, let's take this to a higher level. He needs to be encouraged!

This is not something the government should be involve in. It's an invention and private company
in Nigeria should be able to sponsor this and in turn they will profit from it. There are a lot of talents in
Nigeria, the problem it lack of encouragement and sponsorship. There are lot of smart Nigerian Engineers
and scientist conributing to the America economy and advancement. These talents can be used to
improve Nigeria economy as well. So or later, a foreign company will hire him and Nigeria will lost a resourceful talent.

I hope some rich business man invests This is not something the government should be involve in. It's an invention and private company lets looks at this with reality: Nobody will buy made in Nigeria Helicopter except Nigerian govt( basically we dont have good reputation) or if very cheaper; nigerians can buy as they now buying hand-phones. To start with, his hope is with Govt; who can buy for each state(36 Helicopters); to spray crops/farm lands while further redesign goes on. may be after 10yrs of continuous improvement and good reputation, he can hope to sell to other african countries. what I expect to see; each state putting down 10Million naira each to buy 1 unit. sure there will be accidents or even deaths but he would redesign and refine. This is N360mill less than what madam speaker wasted for nothing.

Although some government officials got very excited when they saw him conduct a demonstration flight in neighbouring Katsina state, Nigeria's Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has so far shown no interest in his aircraft.
"No one from the NCAA has come to see what I've done. We don't reward talent in this country," he lamented. This is so sad coming from this smart young man. Look at a young man trying to do good and no help from anywhere. I wish I had money!

I beg to disagree. If it's up to standard and passes all "chopper tests for air worthiness, even an American will buy it. sure there will be accidents or even deaths but he would redesign and refine. I don't think so. I hope not. God forbid! I don't think boeing or airbus makers basically use the first flights for human sacrifice and then learn. If we do it properly, there'll be no need for such fears

There is already lack of trust, security and encouragement from our fellow Nigeria.
Advanced countries started from somewhere. If you can't do it, at least encourage and support
those that can. The helicopter is not just going to be sold to the public right away. It will have to
go through numerous testing for couple years. If the guy is encourage and sponsored,
other Nigerians will step up with other inventions and ideas. We will be on our way to a better economy.
Instead going abroad to use our talent.

I wonder why most of these multinational companies we've got in this Nation are not encouraging such! But instead they dole millions of dollars on mere entertainments and . We've got talents in this Country, we've got people with good brains! Eni to lori, ko ni fila. . . some people have heads but no cap, while others have cap but no head

Since this forum is all about helping feloww Nigerian, let us all look for a way to raise mone and send the guy for further studies abroad. Maybe when he comes back he will be able to create a machine that will prevent fighting especially among our LAWBREAKERS. Keep it up my northern brother.

make una leave this matter o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
very soon someone will want to make a new car, or a new Bicycle!!!!!!!
there are certain things that have been invented and only require development, this guy now tryiny to invent what has existed for almost a decade haba!!!!!!!!!!!!
we should rather focus on integrating the fella into the aero industrial sector of the country where he can help out more importantly istead of building a new "old plane"
small time one guy will "invent" nigerian water if we start encouraging this

This is the kind of guy africa needs, all he needs right now is back up from the bloody goverment, but no,they won't, because they will lose money inflating prices buying abroad. For those who thinks he is dreamer, check out story of the Wright brothers over a century ago.People like him can clearly prove to people like watson, the supremacist scientist that black man has it up there, but for hopeless leadership. Kudos bruv, keep trying, even if it cost your life, you've already set a record and precedence that should be followed.

This is the one problem we have here in Nigeria "Criticism" we should encourage that guy, if all the facilities required he would have done better than that, as you all can see he knows what it takes. As far as am concerned, Nigerians are the best in everything and I am so proud of my country and her people.
If we were in the shoes of American, we would have done much better than them all. All Nigerians need is more knowledge, practical training and support, afterall, the man/woman who made the 1st helicopter must have done something similar to what we this Nigerian guy did before he finally arrived to what we have today.

Encouraged? Forget it. Nigerian are better in singing praises of Alaiye babas (those who build houses they can't live or sleep in or buy cars they can't drive).
Ask after this guy in few months or a year time, either he is in the USA or Europe.

I wonder why so many of us refuse to see beyond our nose. I quite agree that it will be sheer waste of resources to try to pump money into this guy or others like him so that Nigeria can build Helicopters in 10 years but I think the government should do something for people like this. It is not about rewarding him (since he has not done anything new like some have asserted) but he has shown that he could invest his time into creativity, not only that, he has talent that could be useful if properly developed. I think the goverment should look for a way of encouraging and training them. I believe that with the right motivation these sort of people will dump the idea of helicopters (and other existing inventions) and only God know what they might come up with over time.
Please note that the "helicopter" actually lifted off the ground o. Even if na few meters self.

I think there is more to be done to make the thing fly (if it s safe to do so) , the young man was just having fun, perhaps making helicopters was one of his childhood fantansies. Who never had one.
If you have the funds, there are lots of companies with do it yourself kits and all manners of flying contraptions. Microlites, gyrocopters, helicopters etc are just some of them. You buy the kit and put it together youself. If this young man has what it takes, he should join an aeronautical school and do it properly.

This is an invention.
The structural features of the Helicopters used by very big companies presently are very advanced.
I see no reason why people kept complaining. Though I have not seeing the Helicopter yet, but I believe the features packed into that machine will definitely change how we look @ Helicopter.
Imagine how heavy the Helicopter will, be and how small the engine would and yet fly the machine.
It is best if the Nigerian government invest on this guy or else the foreign companies will not spare him for years to come. Ministry of Technology need to look into it. And the Avaition Industries have to take advantage of this opportunity.
Talk of safety If we can provide enough resources for the guy and some other dedicated Mechanical Engineers; I believe we will be amazed even before the years ends.
Private organisations can invest in this too.
One thing I know about Rich Nigerians, is that they never want to be a pioneer. But always like to push their billions in when they realise a business is yielding them enough cash.
I pray they give their thoughts a rethink this time around.
