Tom Clancy's really great and I pride myself for being able to finish his books. In fact I pride myself in being able to start his books. I saw Clear and Present Danger before reading the book. i tremendously enjoyed the book. Red Storm Rising made me feel like I could command my own Sub. He's very technical which is a factor I like as long as I can figure out what the hell he's talking about. Then he lets you know he did research on everything he's talking about without really having any tehnical know how. That blows my mind! He's like 4th on my list!

I think Tom Clancy is a brilliant storyteller. I've enjoyed every one of his books that i've read even though there are times whenI think he overdoes it with all the details( At one point I thought I was reading textbk)

Ludlum is much too predictable for me. The lone superman going against some giant organization whose power extends over the globe is a theme I've gotten sick of.
