Let us be real here and frank. Nudity in Naija movies reach a crescendo with the advent of stars like Cossy Orjiakor and Shan George. The rate at which those movies sold like hot cakes prompted other directors to rush for such movies before it was finally banned. It goes on to show that Naija loves nudity in movies, no wonder anything pornography sold like hot cakes. After the banning, an average Naija resorted to foreign nude movies to satisfy their appetite for nude movies. The question is, is nigeria ripe for nude movies, afterall, whoever that is not interested should just refuse to buy or watch such movies? The argument that it may fall into the wrong hands of the under aged is uncalled for because most of them are now being taught about HIV/AIDS in school which brought out the issue of sex. Besides what is with all this advert on TV on ZIP UP, a smart kid can ask what it is all about? Let us be realistic, Is Naija ripe for unbanning of Nude movies?

Nudity would best be introduced to the Nigerian market, and more importantly the video censors board, in a non-sexual context, such as was done by the producers of the recently released "Battle of Muzanga", a film which had no sex scenes but DID contain copious video footage of topless and oiled young women performing breast-jiggling dances in a village setting.
If it is SEX and not nudity per se that is banned by the Nigerian Video Censors Board, then "Battle of Muzanga" has set the pace for a fresh new era of open-mindedness in the country's movie industry. Hopefully there will be a lot more more Nigerian video eye-candy coming to a theater near you pretty soon.

I don't think this is a matter of being riped enough to produce pornos, but the matter is Nigeria is still by and large a conservatice society, the aspect of producing pornos wont sure be well received and the society is so lax concerning the issues that will safe guard the average citizen. No rules whatsoever that will prevent minors from viewing such movies, which doesnt sound ideal for a kid to be watching a porno flick. If there is, its more like its non-feasible . Anyways I don't think the society is "ready" for such movies.

Depictions of extreme violence and death are considered entertainment in many households, and yet the depiction of two people having sex for non-violent pleasure would still be considered unsuitable for kids who grow up on "action" movies that the whole family watches regularly at home. Message : "Go off and light people up when you get angry, just like in the movies, but whatever you do, don't have sex for this is a far worse sin than violence."

@Jakumo Well put. It is ironic that you can show a gun in movie but you can't show a genital. You can show the tool of death but you can't show the tool of love.
