well you don't have to get married but if you are having children the word "bastard" comes into play and besides why do people get so tense about marriage you are already together why not just make it legal in the eyes of God and man.

Sad to say, but the term bastard is still used in such cases, although it doesn't carry nearly as much influence as it once did. It still suggests that the children suffer for the putative "mistakes" of their parents.
The social construct of marriage is deep-rooted and one that, for better or worse, is culturally fairly ubiquitous.
Clearly, one doesn't have to be married to make children. It happens a lot.

it is a sad thing to say that kids born out of wedlock are bastards -
what you mean to say is that a child born outside a legally consumated marriage - when that marriage remains undesolved- that child is often refered to as a bastard -not when a child is born by two people who live together without getting married.

@topic, this is my opinion and please noone should attack me oh! We don't all have to get married, its not compulsory. If you get married, thats good, but if you don't get married, its still good, when you die, God is not going to judge you on if you got married or not. Marriage is one of the hardest institutons, you will ever get into, and you have so much work to do. I admire people who stay married for years! I have a chronic phobia for getting married to the wrong person, so I'm taking my time oh!  As for the bastard thing, yes oh! the literal meaning of bastard is a child born out of wedlock, but in reality, I have met more 'bastards' who were born to parents who were married!!! |

One of them is compatibility, its just funny how two peeps seemingly go together before they get married. And once they are in its "i never knew u were like this" God help us. However, your suggestion of having children anyhow is tantamount to behaving like animals, who do not have specific spouses of their own.
