I hope you have an internet downloading software (Preferably internet download accelerator or IDA for short)

This is how I download from youtube:

Option 1:
Once you've located the youtube file you wish to download, copy it's link and paste in this site: http://kej.tw/flvretriever/

It will give you a direct link to where the file is actually stored on the net; copy that link and give it to IDA to download.

Option 2:
If you don't have IDA but do have google chrome or firefox as you browser, paste the link (from http://kej.tw/flvretriever/) in the address bar and go. It should commence downloading from there.

Option 3:
Copy the link of the youtube file you wish to download and give it to IDA to download directly. IDA will (hopefully) make 2 downloads. The first one will be a file directing it to the link source which in turn will be used to download the second file which is the video you wish to save to your system.

Send me a mail if you need more help on the issue.

The fastest way to rip videos from youtube

I've been  searching   for   days  now in order to  get   a simple   trick     so I can easily   download   videos from youtube  .
There are  a lot of  them including  software tools  ,  plugins for firefox   ,  various  scripts etc,  Well most of them are  good  at doing   what they really do .

But I will mention a  way  that it's the  greatest that I've found. This  way  includes using http://www.tubeleecher.com.

Ok here are the steps involved

1)  visit  http://www.tubeleecher.com
2)  get  the youtube link   of the video you want to download
3) paste it   on tubeleecher  web page
4)  press "Download" and save it

You can  watch  the video you  just  downloaded with a flash player.
 Download  it here http://download.cnet.com/FLV-Player/3000-13632_4-10467081.html

I've found   also a youtube video  explaining  the whole  procedure   of getting   youtube videos  with the method described above.
 Here it is   -- >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h87N9F_mdc

ah there seems to be a lot of you tube guru's here. nna abeg am having issues with playing flv videos. they do not play but the audio works. av tried a lot of players and even almighty vlc does not do the job.

what may be the problem. and i have tried the videos on both windows and linux too. the video either does not play or plays and hangs like a scratched cd or a buffering video. av tried converting too and the result is the same

what version of vlc are you using? the latest should work fine - i believe;

for the technically minded, personally i don't bother downloading any software to get the youtube video i want, because i know that when you play a youtube video, it caches somewhere on your pc, in firefox i just go directly to the folder after the video has finished caching and copy and rename it to whatever i want; the path is inside: "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles"
for instance if my login name is "john" then the path will be :
C:\Documents and Settings\john\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles ; now inside this folder is another folder with a funny name usually ending with a .default, inside this folder is another called cache and it's inside the cache folder that the videos can be found; the only problem is that they have weird names without extensions and you may have to play them in your video player to find the one you want usually they don't start with underscore (_); i have included a screenshot so you can see the path (p.s. you won't see application data and local settings unless you enable "show hidden files and folders" in your folder options)
