Don't worry about that.  Oprah will never visit Nigeria.  She is too smart for that!  Save the National Militants for kidnapping others instead for I know "they" got their plans.  Looking for some ransom money?

I think you need to save you energy on capturing the National and Local looters in Nigeria.  Christmas is around the corner and many of them will be coming home---with all the "red-carpet" treatment you give them day in day out--all year round.   Also, use your energy to find out why you do not have constant electricity and water supply in "major cities" in Nigeria as of 47 agbaya years old.  You obviously have much complicated problems than "Oprah" who set for life, don't you see?

they have a group on facebook called oprah is an idiot for dissing nigeria and those people on there are serious, talking about writing her letters and what not. but you know the funny thing, people are mad at oprah but i bet you the minute she does step foot on nigerian soil, everyone is going to be all over trying to get pictures and autograph and try to touch her like she is all that.
this is what they wrote on facebook:

oprah winfrey, in her hur long sponsored prgrame on CNN against NIGERIA, just FUCKED with the most populous black nation in the world, you can't spit in the faces of almost 150million people and expect a happy ending,, the moment she opened her mouth to attack the character of all Nigerians, she declared war on each and every one of us,all over the world, and must be made be made to regret this beyond comprehension, for the rest of her life, If u don't understan the gravity of what she just did, let me put it to you this way, CNN IS WATCHED IN OVER 150COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD, OPRAH IS THE MOST POWERFUL TV PERSONALITY IN THE WORLD, SO WHEN OVER 1 BILLION PEOPLE 'and counting' HEAR YOU ARE A NIGERIAN, YOU'VE LOST THAT BIZNESS DEAL, SHE HAS MADE IT MORE DIFFICULT TO GET INTO SKOOLS ABROAD, SHE HAS MADE IT MORE DIFFICULT TO GET A JOB ABROAD, OUR PEOPLE ABROAD WOULD HAVE TO HIDE THEIR NATIONALITY TO SURVIVE, BECAUSE HAS JUST MADE US THE WORLD ENEMY NO.1, This are the very few of the numerous effects of her action.

NAIJA PEEPS! this woman must pay, and paYback shuld be with everything you've got 'i.e the internet' post on YOU TUBE, on YAHOO, on MSN, MYSPACE,FACEBOOK, on even the HER SITE, , What i'm trying to say is hit her hard, shes just one person, because she just through a big wrench in the engine of your future.

So you're one of the idiots that think she actually did say all Nigerians are corrupt?
i feel nigerians owe Oprah an apology of some sorts for this criminal defamation. Who'D have thought a user-submitted article ont he Punch Online could have generated so much furore, or that Nigerians would be so dumb to actually beleive it all, hook, line and sinker?

Oprah's programme was long Overdue. 419 claims many victims, least of all our image and the beliefs, hopes and dreams of the millions that are trying to work honestly in this country. 419 will only stop whe it's made unattractive, and when fewer people fall for these scheme. Awareness of the pitfalls in conducting fantastic online business deals with Nigerians should significantly reduce the number of victims, and make more Nigerians to focus on education and self-development and move the country forward. We should thank Oprah for that.

But, hey, if you're one of the traitorous bastards that don't mind our country permanently stuck in a rut, then go ahead. Flame Oprah. but you'll always know you'll NEVER be on her level because unlike her you've long discarded the belief in self-development.

Since you were at the show, would you be kind enof to tell us verbatim what and how she said it. "Oh! Nigerians are lovely people will less than 1% involved in 419 scam" Are they not stuck in rut too? Or is it because they are good at deceiving people like u?
If u know the basics of international relations, u'll know that all they want is to put u down. What of Enron? Is that not scam?
What percentage of nigerians are invovled in 419 scam? What about the greedy  fools who search for the quick millions from Africa (where people live on trees, according to them) and believe that with $5000.00 paid to a total stranger from the poorest continent in the world, they will be able to receive some deceased person's $1 Million or make $100 million off an oil block by contributing $10000. I do not support 419. I work by ass out everyday in honest labor and someone sits down and makes a judgement that will affect me because it will be belived hook, line, sinker by all in america and the world because Oprah is seen as a demi goddess.

They will never talk about the brillant Nigerians in NASA and key industries in America or the likes of Emeagwali who developed the fastest computer and has been working for them ever since. Rubbish!!

If you really think that all victims of 419 are of the "pay little money to get deceased General's loot" then you're seriously out of whack. What about the Hurrican katrina scams, what about the church scams? What about the inheritance scams?
Yes, you heard me. Inheritance scams. And it's just typical of Nigerians that they refue to appreciate the cultural differences in other nations. Just because a Nigerian (or African) will NEVER leave money to a long-lost relative, they feel that any person that is deceived into thinking that he's been left money by a long-distance relative is a fool.

Whether or not people are greedy is immaterial. Deliberately setting out to scam someone is entrapment. Everyone has some innate vice in him, we cannot blame the victims when someone strives to take advantage of this weakness.

But it's typical of Nigerians to neglect the damage these 419ers are doing to our image and focus on Oprah. I don't give a shit if you work your ass off, you obviously don't care about your country. I pay over a million Naira in taxes every year to the Nigerian Government, and so i believe i am OWED something. If the Government will not take drastic steps to curb 419, i'll damn well applaud anyone else who will strive to make 419 less attractive to people out there.

I laugh when i see all you cowards rambling on about what you'll do to Oprah if she comes to Nigeria. Go out to any cyber cafe in lagos and see the people hard at work destroying your country's image. Confront them, if you dare. But you won't, will you? it's so much easier to stay in a forum, criticising someone who at least knows the meaning of the word 'patriotism', and has acted in that line to protect her country from the ravages of a widely accpeted cabal of criminals.

Your analogies are daft. Was the Enron scam perpetuated openly? The Enron scandal even caught experienced people on Wall Street unawares. Go to any club in Naija and see how people are OPENLY celebrating 419ers.

My colleague recently ordered a HTC TytN 2 from Expansys UK online. They were scheduled to ship the phone to Nigeria, he'D bought his previous phone from there a year ago. Suddenly the order was cancelled last week friday. When he called to find out, the customer rep guy was blunt enough to tell him that 99% of all Expansys credit card orders from Nigeria were fraudulent,a nd as such he could not honor the order.
Was it Oprah that used all those fake credit cards from naija?

i consulted with the babalawos and they made it known that Oprah will soon have her mouth twisted to one side for saying all those things about Nigeria, just wait and see.

But does it matter what the slave child says about nigeria? Does it take away the fact that the country has the most number os medical doctors in practice in America and Europe? Does it take away from Nigeria the fact that we are inteligent people? does it take it away from Nigeria that we have the most number of hard working professionals every where all over the world?

Does it take anything from us?

Who cares what she says? who? evrywhere I go, i get respect when i say i am Nigerian, do you know how many number of professionals the UK has given opportunity to come and work in the UK under the HSMP programme? if the country is such bad, how come this is so?

Joooo - Oprah can go wipe her butt with sand paper for all i care.

I didn't get to watch the show. however i have testimonies from Nigerians that watched the show and they have flagged the original letter as a false and misleading article. See here

http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/board/main-square/39495-leave-oprah-alone.html

Here's an excerpt from the show

Oprah – “We mentioned Mugus, and we’ve talked about Nigeria a lot. So I know we are going to get a letter from someone saying that Nigeria has a lot of wonderful people. You don’t have to send the letter, we already know that. We just talking about this particular scam that is going on; so we’re not talking about the entire country and everyone in the country. Save your letters.”

Her guest – “And it is not Nigeria. A lot of scams originate in Nigeria are from you know, are done by Nigerians but you now the Eastern block countries are big sources of scams, the far east, you know, here in the United States, other countries. It is not exclusively a Nigerian problem.

Oprah – “Yeah we were just talking about the Nigerian scams and I am thinking we are Mugus.”

IMHO, the guy who wrote that article to the punch deserves to be slapped for misleading Nigerians like that.

Without meaning to be disrespectful your response above is the most idiotic I have seen in my life.

You dismiss the allegation based on the fact that someone posted it on the punch website.

In trying to prove that the allegation is false you point us to another discussion forum.

Are we supposed to take the stuff you reproduced as facts? You must be dreaming.

And in your opinion you think the guy that wrote the initial article to punch deserves to be slapped? If he deserves to be slapped you deserve to be given a mass beating for wasting our time.

Before you condemn someone make sure you have a good reason, your blind support for anything US cannot be an excuse for making baseless comments.
