Hi,
am a young lady, and am really hairy especially on my arms and legs.
am scared that if i shave my legs, the hair ill sprout more and i l hve to start shaving every other day, what should i do.

right now, all i wear is jeans trousers and am misssing out on all the kool skirts around because of my unsightly legs.

just get a new razoor apply soap sud to ur legs and shave off the hairs.

u can always dedicate the weekends to shave off the hairs dat way u keep ur leg smooth, and clean!

or u could still visit saloon's that give beauty services. goodluck in ur quest for a sexy leg/skin

I shave my legs a nite before I wear short skirts, I have heard the saying that says that it’l make it grow faster but ts not applicable in my case.

These are the type of women you dont want to marry. They are just students and they are too busy to take care of simple things like personal hygeine, will she have the time to watch her weight, make her hair and use deodorants when she has 2 children?

True that shaving makes your hair growth faster and more aggressive . . . now you know why some men are reluctant to shave.
I shave every morning when i intend to maintain a clean look . . . no amount of "hectic schedules" can prevent me. Just do what you have to do madam.

@topic if u dnt ve time jst wax it off cos it is actually true,shaving will speed hair growth esp. for hairy people.but u know u can take the "pain" nd shave it on weekends, its nerfing much rily. . . hairy skin on ladies aint all that attractive.

You may have to keep that ritual for as long as your hairs keep growing. Maybe a life time! You should have sought expert advice before subjecting yourself to razor cut. I just hope those hairs won't become as piercing as thorn in the midweek. Your boyfriend won't find it funny at all.

Seriously, I suggest you schedule appointment with an expert. Perhaps your hairy nature are not genetic but a product of your metabolic activities. I wouldn't know. It is often better to consult experts before applying any remedy to a problem.

I suggest u see ur dermatologist first, and then depending on how, sensitive ur skin is u can definitely go from there,

U have many options, from, waxing to, hair removal creams, and so on.

Babez, that u dont shave ur legs dont mean u lack hygiene, all u need to do is look for certain creams or methods that would retard the growth of hair after shaving ur legs. BTW, shaving with a blade only makes the hair come out more, so i'd advise u go for waxing or cream removal methods.

There is nothing unhygenic about having hairy legs, lol. Its just a trend, if tomorrow, the media/hollywood started to say hairy legs are in, and all your favourite stars started wearing their legs hairy, people would buy into it too, lol

I have hairy arms and legs, I wont shave my legs unless they will be shown. I dont mind it, but I know others do. Yes, if you are a hairy person, the hair may grow back faster and thicker.

I have been very lucky, my boyfriends have all been into body hair, lol. Could you believe I shaved one time, and the man I was dating actually started shouting at me, and asked me to stop it as he likes the hair, lol

There are even some men who like stretch marks, although I dont have them.

that way you can shave your legs that morning or the night before.

do not use soap suds for shaving , you're a girl for christ's sake, find a shaving foam that has a moisturizer ,
it leaves the skin soft afterwards , otherwise apply a moisturiser immediately after shaving with shaving cream
and never use a shaving stick twice.

and believe me , no guy wants to have a hairy legged lady around him (we all want to distinguish between the man and the woman here).
the hair doesnt grow longer than before , trust me its just stories they tell so u dont look prettier than your fellow babe.

watever u use to shave off hairs, be it soap suds, melted sugar, cream, animal product, and all wot nots be rest assured that the hairs will defintely grow and u must continue the ritual as long as you re alive.

for that individual sayn soap suds is not advisable before the creams were produced what were u using? shavn sticks/razor aint they what were in vogue den? do u even knoe the chemical components of the afore mentioned creams? just becuzz it's fashionable doesnt make it healthy.

if u get tired of shavn off hairs in pubic regions/skin surface den let them grow after that u braid them, i bet i will be more sexy

Ever heard of PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL.
It comes in two forms,but am more familiar with the laser version.
Its financially tasking though.

Anyway,they are more practical solutions like waxing,as well as the spatula.The razor in a shaving stick is not a very suitable tool,especially for certain parts of the body.
my own opinion is that you should use hair removal creams like "VEET",rather than soap and shaving stick. The cream delays growth of the hair as well.

Laser removal does not remove the hair entirely, it only lasts longer, say 6 weeks

I read somewhere that black skin doesnt heal well from laser treatment. Do more research. In the meantime, its cheaper to use the shaving stick. Just dedicate a day in the week, I know sucks being a woman but beauty is pain and time.

You could also use cheap conditioners,it softens d hair 4 removal and also smoothens and soften ur skin afterwards but moisturise when ur done.

That's what I do.

Why is this complicated. Put hair removal cream on your legs by the time you finish brushing your teeth and removing your makeup it will be ready to wash off in the shower. haba

^^ yup, exactly lol. That's what I do. Besides, with this cold weather, I only use 'em during the summer. No need for 'em now since my legs aren't being shown.
The poster might be in naija tho, that's tough when you consider the weather. It's like summer all year round.

Anyways, this is an old thread but this thing about hair growing faster when you start shaving is false. It grows at the same rate, you just notice it more.
