Has anyone experienced an increase in the no of 419 emails received recently? I recently joined Nairaland. Before then I had no contact with any nigerian websites. There has been a notable no of 419 emails sent to my personal mailbox - at least 5 a week. Has anyone had a similar experience? Not meaning to cast aspersions on Nairaland, I just don't understand where they've all suddenly come from and I'm trying to get to the bottom of the problem. (I have no links with any other nigerian websites)

This forum is trawled by many 419 homo boys and many people writing in this forum are or have been involved or have dabbled in 419 It stands to reason unfortunately that you will get those kind of mails if you have your address listed on your profile

somehow they get hold of the email addy. I have recieved series of them myself, My suspicion is revolving around hi5 or nairaland.
the guys were claiming to be managers of bank of africa and they need me to come and stand in as heir of some billions of dollars that had been left lying dormant in one deceased customer's account.
just ignore the mails.
