@texazzpete

man thanks so much for the info, it was highly appreciated, just got a couple more quesitons i'l like you to answer for me, hope its not too much to ask n am not takin much of your time,  here we go,

1) have you been through the program before?? you certainly seem like it,

2) what exactly are the criteria's for someone not to make it through SITP 1?? you know is there like a certain grade point avg or cut of mark or something like that,

3) whats the success rate of individuals who actually make it through the program??

4) been to the hostels? or accomodations?? how are d rooms? self contained?

5) are some of the lecurers foreign or more local?

think i'll leave at that for now, don't want to bore you too much lol,  your anticipated response to these questions would be highly appreciated man, their a bunch of us here who need to know, lol, thanks again,

@KDB
1) Yes. I've been through the program before
2) write exams. Pass mark 50. fail an exam, you resit. Fail the resit, it's counted against you as a fail. Fail too many, company has no choice but to release you
3) it's an intensive course, but you should scale through it. To get to this stage means you've got brains
4) Accommodation is good! One person to a room ensures your privacy. Did you really think you'd stay in a 'Hostel'  Grin
5) Why should that be an issue with you? Don't trust your fellow Nigerians? All lecturers are very good.

Hi SHELLites,

i also got my offer letter. SHELL has saved me from the frustration I got from other oil multinationals. I learnt that SITP is fantastic and I can't wait to meet all ya wonderful people there.

Thank God for we that have gotten ours and I believe people that have not gotten negative feedback are still likely to get called for good. Lets pray for our brothers and sisters.

See ya all.

My name is Shola.

@edoblakky, there is a strong element of truth in that statement because from what i was told, majority of those in the "discuss list" will be successful since only few people met with the 88% mark. and more people did not get up to 77%. so keep your fingers crossed. meanwhile who told you?

Ya KDB sorry for the long wait.SITP/2 is a program for technicians(OND Holders) prior to now,they used to do the training in PH but things changed and we were moved to Edjeba last two years.It's a yearly program like SITP1,except that we ain't staff on training,we also write exams(just finished one) too but whereas SITP1 usually have their assessments weekly/fortnightly ours is after six wks,after the whole exercise we MAY be employed(though shell insists we will after a 'long' or short' wait),but the letter of admission says otherwise,we are also paid some STIPEND though not on shell's payroll, so much for now ,we may get to chat on ur arrival in April.Cheers!!.

Hi guys please what is this waiting list I'm hearing about? Is it that they will only call from that list if some people fail the medical or they are yet to meet their target? I'm just curious because up to this moment, i have not heard from Shell.
KDB (m)
Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation
« #404 on: February 08, 2008, 05:58 PM »

@anniwil

thanks for the info man, and i would definitely like to catch up with you on more info hopefully come april, thanks again man,

@2good

ma brother,  from my understanding of the term 'waiting list' i'd probably say its not certain that you would make the SITP just because you've been invited for the medicals, due to certian probs heart related n so on n so forth, restricting you from performing at a certain level during the 1yr training program,

hence,  it would only be normal to have such a  list so as to replace any of such unfortunate occurrences,

anyways,  thought they had stopped the medicals as they had started sending out offer letters to successful applicants,  but i know of a certain young lady who did her SRD way before ours and was scheduled to undergo her medicals today,

just keep the faith my brother, we were in the same group and i see no reason why you should not be considered,

will surely let you know if theres any other relevant info ok, till then,  remain prayerfull in take it easy brother, He will find a way as always,

@onavae & 2good.Actually,my friend who is a student in SITP checked the list & told me that i was successful. He also told me that we'll be called in batches as April 1st is still a bit far. For those of us who have not been contacted yet,we should be patient as we're on the success list.Let's just keep thanking God although we need 2 be extremely patient. Remember no one has resumed yet,so let's keep waiting.Job 14:14b says all the days of my appointed time will i wait until my change come.

Hi all,

I discovered this thread a bit late into the recruitment process but I have read most of it and I must say it is informative, entertaining and amusing all at once. I am an SITP candidate and this thread would have provided me a much needed sense of calm when I was agonizing over the email for medicals. That's over now (thank God) so I have moved on to agonizing over the offer letter. I know it is almost sure but the almost part is still nerve racking. It will all end soon. For those who are still awaiting the invitation for medicals, keep your hopes up. It too will be done soon.

Please let me know if I am jumping the gun here but can somone share with us how to prepare for the first trip out to Warri. What to pack, what not to pack. Will the materials be provided at ELV or are we to bring our materials etc. I am a bit of an over-packer so I need to know before start folding my matress and curtains.

Lastly, I will be bringing my tennis racket with me. Will anyone else be doing the same?HuhHuhHuh?

Anyiee i really wish i could help, especially because you sound really anxious and all, but unfourtunately i'm just as much in the dark as you are, besides i'm not even a sitp hopeful. All i can say is just keep praying and waiting, some people have speculated that there is a waiting list so just keep the faith up,

yeah Myro no long thing!,abeg for wot i know bone the matress thing,as for the curtain nna na wa o!!! u need only very little things when packing here,glad we've an SITP1 guy who's interested in tennis though(u may bring your racket if convenient for u but don't bother about futbol boots),i very rarely see the current guys here in the court and yeah there's a standard gym,a football pitch,some indoor games infact shell dey try so just forget the idea of overpacking,u may just bring some clothes,possibly a small i-pod and well maybe an auxiliary bedsheet yah with some shoes,every other thing is provided for,n u may get some over here that u think u may need on arrival,you shld also bring those toiletries but not a bucket,just soap e.t.c every other thing is taken care of by SHELL.cheers for now!!

My brother, without logging to the site that was given to you, i can tell you it is a "SCAM". First of all, any mail you get that the email address does not end with , @shell.com is not from shell. Check other mails you have gotten from them to confirm what i saying. What i'm saying here is that, the fact that there is a shell in the address does not mean that it is from shell. what is important is the fact it ends with , @shell.com.
