if you think its dumb then don't reply. i don't know why peeps can't see something they don't like and pass.

you can only chat with the person if he/she happens to have their messenger id on their profile. when they are online you would see a messenger icon(yahoo,yim,msn) displaying online, you click on it and your already chatting with the person.but note you must also be online on your messenger to be able to chat.
