The real problem that comes with the growth of the Nigerian music industry is what is showing now. As Ruggedman said after the 50cent V Eedris incident, the problem is communication. I begin to actually wonder what Faze' website was actually built for, 

Instead of him telling us bout the Akon thingy, he's telling us about how he used to sing in the shower when he was five years old, Can't he just learn from the international celebs he's trying to emulate, take Vannesa Hudgens, immediately her nude picture thingy came out, she went straight to her website and apologised to the public for everything. Faze is taking his fans as dummies, what does it take to call Akon and straighten everything out, release a full press statement or at least an 'errtin will be okay statement' and the press will have sumfin to dwell on.

Another matter we should consider is the Hiphopworld factor. I don't think it is correct to say that they could be lying against Faze. Afterall, he got so many nominations at their awards ceremony. They are just doing the job that gives them their money, pity this did not happen here in the UK, the press will have made it much bigger than this. Respect to Hiphopworld for digging up a controversy that is somewhat missing in Nigerian entertainment. I get tired of always seeing profiles describing how good Psquare is or an interview with Modenine.

One wonders what Akon has to say about all this

Very nice post, you made a lot of sense. When I told someone the other day that these artists' websites are not the best place to get the latest info about them some other person attacked me. Faze himself publicized this thing, so how come he hasn't done any form of damage control??? At least he can't claim he hasn't heard about it. One more thing, I think we need to move past hiphop world, yes they reported it but Akon said it with his own mouth. So all these questions about them hating or loving faze should not even be an issue. They reported a direct quote which many people even said said they watched on tv.

What do you mean by "Akon confirmed faze alone" Then lets be real, just because he's busy does not mean his site shouldn't be updated. I can guarantee you he's not the one that built/manages the website so even if he goes to the moon that shouldn't stop his website from being updated, if not for any other reason, they should update it to clarify this whole mess. Its simply the right thing to do!!! Again pheesayor lets put the focus on what AKON SAID not what one website or the other reported because you guys want to turn this into something hiphop world just cooked up "IN THE KITCHEN" ***pun intended****

i agree u have to put focus on the website but not more than what Akon himself said. You guys act like Akon never said it and the website just reported some random news. How can u put more focus on someone that reported the news than the person that actually made the news?

I agree with you on the fact that Hiphop world are not the bad guys in this case. I was just commenting on what sumone said that Hiphop World is affiliated to Kennis. They can't be his haterz because he even got nominations at their awards ceremony. They are just doing their job as the voice of Nigerian Hiphop. And giving the nigerian public a very good topic to discuss for the moment instead of 'Rugged Vs Modenine' or 'Who is the best Nigerian Producer'. There is no news like bad news

           Celebrity business is not like the American justice system. It's 'Guilty Until Proven Innocent' Nigerian Celebs need to get educated on this from the masters like Britney Spears _{Did anyone hear that her crap album is climbing the charts.} He needs to clear up everyfin on time for him not to lose the almost-religious followership he gathered with Faze-Alone.
           In my own opinion, a thirty minute press conference in this boiling moment is more important to him than a music video. This could go either way now, a quick press conference or an update to his website(Which can be done inbetween his video shoot and gets more clicks on his site) will not only help in restoring his name but also help in boosting his sales for the new video release. He doesn't even need to tell the truth, just an 'Everything will be sorted out' statement is wht the press needs at this current period of time. A stitch in time saves a million copies.

          Akon himself is the main badguy in this case. it all boils down to the way our artistes need to boost their egos in the world of entertainment. A similar case happened to on Sierria-Leonan guy that allegedly wrote the Blood Diamonds track. He was there not getting attention while Kanye was gettin Awards for the song. Can Akon try what he did in the US? An interview for disclaiming an artiste will not be just a simple Three minute thingy anywhere in the world. Akon needs to come out clean and not keep 120 million nigerians in suspense. 

           

I really don't see how Akon is the bad guy too. . .  If he never had a deal with faze, then he never had one. As it had been said earlier a 30min press conference and or interview with a mag, tv, radio station or whatever form of media he chooses to convey the message won't stop him from shooting his video. He's just making this thing drag on longer, he should just come out, clear the air and move on, if not that dark cloud would keep looming over his head. Anyway he has chosen to do it the way he wants to do it so we have no choice but to wait for him to get back from SA. I just hope he doesn't have to jet out again for another "emergency" video shoot when the time comes again.
