@sinaoye unicorn has said it all, as long as you are an engineer, and u understand the 1st principles of the profession, all the softwares are just tools and u might not need any specialised training, just keep in touch with other users, u've challenged my mind and am reading up on the lamella clarifier, its really going to help in my next project (an ETP for NBC in Challawa) please am expecting those pictures o! when u are ready for the software, if you have a gmail accnt, i'll try and see if i can attach and send
@unicorn, u have a kindred soul here brother, i left a bank to come back to full time engineering to and believe me man, i havent regretted it one day, the billions might not come now but it they are on the way!! that i am sure of!!
one way i try to avoid site workers' problem is by relating to their supervisor or foreman and not with them directly, although that could backfire at times too, one just has to rely on one's sense of judgement of human beings to get the best of out of them without making enemies,

Every year, young, energetic, and vibrant graduates are being pumped out of NYSC in two batches. Many of them travel here and there in search of greener pasture in several multinational companies, private companies, banks etc. but only a few remain lucky after several attempt. Is it because the barber does not know how to barb or that the blade is not sharp? Thorough research has discovered that the fault is from applicants and not the employers. @ Poster Let me not be left bhind in issues like this.
As long as Nigeria is concern, there is nothing an initiator/inventor will do for d benefit of her nation that he gets back as a package other than heart-breakin, discouragemt, child plays responses.
No wonder our evil politician had dominated everywhere to influence its political children nothing but corrupt practices. those guilty of this, WHEN DO WE BOAST DAT WE (NAIJA) IS A DEVELOPED NATION? The word: Developing is our song to foreigners. Cant we look for a scenario where we can help each other build this nation wit one VISION, AIM, GOAL etc. lets not continue like this, let arrive at one thing before d other.
YOUNG AND UPCOMING PROFESSIONAL lets put own hands on desk and make Nigeria great place, developing it up to international standard wit landmarks and monument compare to d ones around d world .
sorry for those i’ve offended, i know there r those (born of Nigeria-parent) who doesn’t like good thing.

I studied Aeronautical Engineering at University of Salford (UK). Currently i'm studying MSc in Air Transport Management at Cranfield University (UK), i feel really proud of my self to get this far.
I am interested in working for Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) or Virgin Nigeria if given the chance or else I will just stay here in the UK. So you should all watch out for me in years to come. I definately want to make an impact in the Nigerian Aviation Industry by becoming the Aviation Minister

IF You GET WHERE AM COMING FROM AM SAYING WE NID TO TAKE OUR PRO BRAINS TO THE NEXT LEVEL,,,THE LEVEL OF IMPACT THAT CHANGES THE LIVING SCRIPT.

my brother, even if the millions are not coming in yet, i'm positive they are on the way, provided we stick to the right path and distinguish ourselves in what we do. I may not totally agree with you as regards dealing with site formen only, i'd rather we carry out our duties with them directly, making the un-skilled/ semi- skilled workers on site realise that we feel their pains, treat them as human beigns and be transparent in your dealings. You very likely will not go wrong (this is actually eligible to all forms of leadership and management), but if u de do big boi for site, meeen, those guys can "yeye" u. Confirmed.
Guys lets share thoughts and Ideas, does anyone know about ground retention in excavation, shoring and/or temporary works. I'm presently involved in these and want to have an idea of its feasibilty in Nigeria

Baddo,
tight CV, keep it up my bro, the sky is the startin point. if asked, i'll adv you to get a few years foreign expr. before going home,
why? the world is getting smaller, the key thing now is to ensure u are a citizen fo the world i.e, u carry the "paali" (passport) of your country but your experience and qualification keys u to work anywhere in the world, many young professionals (even Nigerians) are on course for this. My brother you are one of such. more power to your , I do hope when the time and conditions are right (hopefully soon) you will join us to build a Nigeria of our dreams.
1 love.

@unicorn, its as if this is a forum for concrete and steel boys o!! yeah, you're right site men can task henry kissinger's diplomatic skills, as par ground retention, depending on your client's budget and the scope of the project you might want to investigate sheet piling as an alternative, Trevi Foundations has one technique they use, am not quite clear about it now but with a little research you should get what you need!!!
