the laptop was made for the german/spanish market . . or simly put it was to be sold in a non english speaking country. if u're running vista, you're in for it - you have to get a windows cd and reinstall.
if its xp, you can easily find pirated xp discs.if its vista, i don't know if they've perfected the crack.if you have N u can always buy vista for n15000 to 22000

The solution is, backup your drivers and format the system, then re install either xp or vista back to it. That does not say your lappy will not still have that featue u are talking about. If you need the software to backup your drivers, just send an email to me via info@debscomtech.com i will attach one for you. cheers

you need to install an english version of vista on your system. unfortunately, installing windows clears your registry, which is why you need the driver CD. you can opt to partition your hard drive and install xp on the second partition- which is what i recommend for users uncomfortable with vista. the problem with doing this is that your os is not in english, so navigation will be a nightmare.

if your system was running xp and you had this problem, i would recommend buying a pirated xp CD from otigba and reinstalling windows. however, i do not know how reliable the cracking of vista is . i beleive that a lot of the cracks currently available only work if  you do not update windows. thats why i'D recomend buying vista legit. the wahala you may experience if MS invalidates the activation of your system is a nono.

your system probably has a recovery partition with the drivers. but navigating to it may be difficult since the os is not in english. you may have to go to HP's website to download drivers for your system.
