Noe that different software packages have different keyboard combination shortcuts. You can find some windows xp shortcut keys here or use google.
But why do you want to make life difficult for yourself? In as much as knowing some of the common key combination is good(in a situation you mouse decide to go crazy on you), the mouse is there to help simplify your everyday work. USE IT. In this day and age, i don't think you will impress anyone by knowing all the keyboard shortcuts there is to know.

Good luck.

Thnx Ynot. U r very correct from all angles: We r in the new age where everything has virtually become easy. But thn like u rightly pointed out, the mouse can go haywire sometimes. And tht's wht I want to take care of. I hate the idea tht I can't do anything because my mouse is not performing. Thanx once again. I will take it seriously. In fact I've learnt one new thing already which I ve been trying to knw - shift+F10. Ynot r d bomb!!! More info will b appreciated.
