Why Are Igbo People Fair?

hello naijapeople, i had asked this question on another forum, did not get a great answer. i just want to know why Igbo people are fair?, is it diet, genes, weather?

they live in an area and are surronded by dark skinned folks so i am rather curious. would appreciate smart answers only
