Nigeria is turning up side down, every thing is just mixing up is like the country is now divided into two things are just going to one side. If there is a call for war, will you support it?

Mamba, thank you. Some people are frustrated and see war as the only way out. If they can't progress they don't want other people to progress!
As for me, I am still angry about our previous civil war. And I am angry about the many tribal skirmishes that took place during the first term of the current regime. How can I support war? I cannot even contemplate the possibility. Some young people talk about war as if it's exciting. Or as if it would lead to a better country. I just look at them and feel bad for the country ...
Because there's nothing noble about warfare. And in african warfare, even civilians are not spared. People will be running around and soldiers will be shooting them as if they are bush meat! Those that don't die by the bullet die of matchet wounds, landmines, or AIDs contacted through rape.
No, it is not fun and I want no part in any war!

Yeah I like you. War is not a good thing indeed.
I do not pray for my enemy to see war, talkless of me seeing war. I can't I magine how it will be seeing my sisters, brothers, friends, and parents die in my presence. As I am typing this message, I am even fealing the pain of war. It is so terrible looking at the film tricks we watchh every day on TV, which are not even up to the real thing.
May God help us.

seun , i recall arguing this with you. don't worry if it starts we will start speaking french (in Togo). War benefits no one , thats why military officers are the last to suggest war. its the politicians that do so. I will support war if all politicians involved join the battle along with their relatives and kids (of course they will board the first available flight to Europe.). I don't know about other tribes but I know Yorubas will not support going to war, we rarely do and at the present moment there is no charismatic leader capable of summoning us to war. Personally i don't support war cause i know war affects every one and there are no guarantees that soldiers will follow Geneva pacts. Amen to peace.

Thank God for Nigeria.
People thought the country would have gone for war especially during the June 12 "palava". But thank God, the country survived it. Since Nigeria had survived June 12, definetly, the country will survive any other thing that may bring war. So help us God.

As things are going on now is one the good things Nigerians had been waiting for , wipe out the evil in the country, prosecute those who had been taking us backward by stealing our hard earn money. why should there be war? if you are call out by those who think that things are not any longer going there way I know that me and you will not go to war. Now we are wiser than before. it is only a fool that will go to war now for greedy men and women who want to wish us bad.

One of the things I admire most about us as a nation and a people is our ability to adapt to whatever situation confronts us. As someone rightly said, the June 12 saga followed by Abiola's death some years later presented the perfect excuse for the nation to go into a full blown war, but we love and cherish life, such as it is, too much in Nigeria to fling ourselves in front of missiles for a cause that will in any event still be lost. I regret sounding like a pessimist in that regard but war actually never serves any purpose but the immediate selfish gratification of a selected few. Double emphasis on selfish and few; case in point: Iraqi invasion. There are more dead people in that country now than Saddam would have murdered in the next 10 years and soldiers in their prime who died for a terribly unnecessary if not unfounded cause.
Geneva Convention or no Convention, war is the worst epidemic to attack any nation, any people. There remains absolutely no sane reason to go into war and to what end? I trust Nigerians will see beyond the inciteful words of any seemingly charismatic leader or anyone for that matter that might want or desire to preach the sermon of guns, bullets and swords as against round the table dialogue and the adoption of civil conflict resolution.
So, I say ‘no problem’ with all confidence, we are so not going into war.

It is not called adapting,it is called being afraid to demand change.

Well you will have to fight the war on your own because I'm not joining you. My life is too precious to be wasted because some people son't know how to register their demands in a democratic system.

Seriously, i suggest that we desire, pray and or fast fo r Naija. @least , that a Good leader gets there! @Seun, what about a nairalandwide fasting day or hunger strike ?.That would indeed be an international campaign of the peoples.!

Seriously that might be a good idea. 3days of fasting before the election. All nairaland users. THAT would amount to the greatest sacrifice for Naija

I will never support the idea of war, but i was around Akure in 1983 when the riot broke out after the NPN rigged election, that was a spontaneous riot people and am afraid such thing might happen after this election either we talk about it or not. The lord is my Shepard, I shall not want,
