Firefox fans this way!Gunning toward the upcoming release version 1.1, Mozilla Firefox is available in an alpha release with some new goodies (such as better extension management, improved page loading times etc), code named "Deer Park". Considering this is actually alpha software, it's insanely stable in my experience. I've been running Mozilla Deer Park Alpha 1 (Firefox 1.1 Alpha 1) for well over a month, now the second alpha is out, so get it while it's hot: ' Mozilla Deer Park Alpha 2' (if you're not hip on the latest and greatest, you can safely continue using Firefox 1.0.x) NOTE: some extensions don't work with Deer Park: Adblock, Flashblock, and All-in-one Gestures work fine. Dictionary search and Session Saver don't. Major talking points for Deer Park aka "Why should I?" Improved speed, the user interface has become a lot snappier and pages load faster, drag and drop tabs, mouse wheel scrolls through tabs etc Extensions compatible with Deer Park: http://www.projects1.com/firefox/exthacks/

Opera is still the fastest for me. In fact, there is no difference between Firefox and Opera. I use a Netscape Navigator 7.2; they are all fast. Except MS Internet Explorer X.X

Mozilla Firefox is the browser I admire the most; I can't do without tabbed browsing and there are so many extensions available to customize your experience. [I imagine that] Firefox extensions are easier to write than Internet Explorer toolbars/plugins and more likely to be free and open sourced. What made it possible for me to switch to Firefox in the first place what's its improved speed and compatibility with Internet Explorer (using the same shortcuts, etc).
Unfortunately, I'm back to using Internet Explorer because I discovered that the new MSN Toolbar also offers tabbed browsing in Internet Explorer! (If you want us to discuss this, let me know and I'll open a new thread).
So I'm a fan of the Mozilla Firefox browser but I'd like to beg the developers to provide more compatibility with Internet Explorer out of the box. Certain commercial/webmaster features just don't work well in Firefox yet. For example, until recently there was no official google toolbar for Firefox. No Alexa toolbar either. Webmasters will know what I'm talking about!

Truth of the matter being that by integrating IE so much with windows, M$ was able to win the browser war, but also created problems for itself. Its not so easy to remove IE from the inherent security issues that activeX controls create. WHich is one of the reasons, why using a M$ mail client, outlook or outlook express opens you to so much malicious stuff.
I wouldnt even dream of using IE for such sensitive stuff as e-commerce or online banking. WHo knows what kind of loop hole is being exploited at the moment? M$ plugs one hole, the hackers open up 10 more. Its a losing battle if you ask me.
One reason I don't like FF so much is that it doesnt allow me to continue from where I was. In Opera, if I have gazillion tabs open, If I shut it, when I restart, it gives me the gazillion tabs back. I do like the web developer extensions in FF though.
DLing the deer park now to give it a run

Do you know that the Google Toolbar now has a version for Mozilla Firefox? It's called the Google Toolbar BETA for Firefox; screenshot below:

There had always been a google toolbar extension that was created by hackers. The beauty of open source. I am now using the Firefox Deer park. Why oh why didnt it keep my bookmarks??? Good thing, I have just a few there.

Well, I think Firefox is fastest and posseses more security features and pop-up blocking. But they need to work on its compatibity.

Actually most of the stuff about Firefox being the fastest, most secure etc. is pure FUD http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/FirefoxMyths.htmlThis is pretty much a non-biased explanation that debunks the marketing and hype built for Firefox. Notice the person doesn't support FF, IE or Opera- he just says it like it is. The only thing good for Firefox is the extensions that are possible due to its opensource nature- specifically for developers. Otherwise, Opera pretty much has everything its trying to achieve. Its also fun to compare the Firefox bea 1.5 and Opera 9.0 ALPHA (not even beta yet) and notice that its the opera preview that lives up to its image of stability- never lost any data on the browser ^__^
