Fuel Economy Of Powerbikes
« on: November 28, 2007, 03:37 PM »

I just want to know if anyone here knows the fuel economy and mileage of powernikes. I am going to get a 250cc next month because i am a beginner but it occured to me that if it's going to use as much fuel as my 1.6 litre nissan sunny,it's not really worth it. How far can 10 litre fuel go from the old toll gate(example). can it reach ogun state or farther? or it really consumes ten times more than normal okada

These bikes should average between 3 to 5 litres for 100Km. Your Toyota 1.6 litre engine will average between 7 to 9 litres for 100Km perhaps even more if you're stuck in traffic half the time.

But ultimately depends on the bike in question.

proo212, that sounds too good to be true.i use like 5 litres or more in my 1.6 litre nissan to 7up and back to mushin.if u calsulate well, 10 litres can't even do 50 kilometres not to talk of 100.

@The Game.

What is your driving style like? Are you stuck in traffic most of the time? That will increase your consumption if its stop start traffic.

I'm thinking in Lagos you cannot get away from traffic. One the highway the consumption eases if you are at a steady speed.

I get between 11 and 13 litres to 100Km in city driving in 320 V6 CLK. When I'm on the highway doing a steady 130/140 I get between 8.7 and 9 litres for 100km.

Fair enough, where I live in Germany, heavy traffic is virtually non existent compared to Lagos. If I drive my car everyday in stop/start traffic and rev hard before each gear change, I am sure my car will use up to and even more than 20 litres for every 100km.

But I have been known to have light foot Grin

That 'so cool of the 2006 kawasaki. almost no fuel. I just hate traffic and to make it worse,the fuelconsumption during traffic makes me so so mad. I need FREEDOM.
