How much suppourt do you need? Seun, I will tell you what, there are only two threads that make that Sports section exist and thats the Arsenal and United thread. Besides that, Nairaland's touted 85,000 membership may have been about half (40,000). That fact is that Jackal's vituperations, analysis and even his bias & prejudice brings energy to that section!. Those threads are always heated, if you dare not cross-check your facts before posting just know someone (not necessarily Jackal!) is coming to hound your ass for mis-information, and so many other stuffs that make the sports section a place to learn a couple of footballing stuffs. Basically, Jackal and others have been able to check & Balance that section. However, i personally oppose the manner Jackal spits his Venom, ofcos he is Vulgar!. He's not the only one guilty!. But one thing have learnt, if you can't stand the heat of that section, it takes the "back button" click for you to get your behind out of the thread! Akolawole is a prime example, Once contributions becomes "your Papa like Toto, your mama like Oko" discussions, he logs out! Absolutely, i do the same too, hence my post has been sporadic in the last couple of months!. In all, this doesn't take away the shine, popularity, "Ad revenues" and increased memebership, Jackal and others have brought to this weblog!. Infact, they have added to it! Jackal's prominence in the Sports section can't be undermined !. I remeber when Jackal came back from his 6 months leave, A Very very Very prominent member of the sports section emailed me about his happiness about Jackal's return simply because analysis and counter-analysis would reign again!. Am i holding brief for Jackal because we share d same club affinity? Maybe not! Afterall he gets along with some couple of buddies outside the United Circus. There are some guys i know he wouldn't howler insults at with a 6ft pole and thats because Respect begat Respects! |

You havn't complained that you are loosing Ad sales and membership!, when I joined this site, we was less than 10,000. Now there has been over 150,000 registartions. Give or take 80,000 people are serially active! Your stuffs have increased and even your own bank account is swelling. So how do we explain the "driving away sensible people" drivel!.
