Lagos State Local Govts: What Is This Radio And Tv Licence?

What is all this about Radio and TV licence?

I have noticed that the local government workers choose to go only to the places that they know they wont be challenged.

Please can someone explain to me what this tax/levy is about?

The radio stations and TV stations all have a way they make money so I wonder what they are collecting this tax for.

Also when you buy any electronic equipments, you also pay vat so what in the world is Radio and TV licence?

Please someone tell me o.

They have never acosted me but people around me complain about it.
