Hi all, this is a very interesting, informative and educative thread. i am grateful to the first poster for the topic. i learnt of this CFA some weeks ago. i intend to do it, but not until next year june. i just completed ICAN last year june. i intend to use it to write the final level of ACCA which consist of 5 papers this year. this thread has been very informative. thanks to all again.

still on study section 1, about to finish ethics, may be jumping qunth to tackle economics in study section 2. this is b/c of my better familiarity with those qunth thing and lack of calculator for now.

I didnt know what i got myself into until i started studying last month. The material that most be read and understood is very large.
Before starting, i had only High school level Accounting and Economics so i knew this was going to be a challenge. however Ethics was quite straightfoward and my Mathematical background was handy in Quants. The first part of Econ was like high school Ecomomics but the other part is not
I think schweser has been very good for me so far. There are concept checkers at the end of each study session which lets u test the understanding of what has been learnt . However , I constantly have to review what i have learnt because i keep forgeting stuff .
I've finished reading Ethics , Quant and Econ spending an average of about 2 - 3 hrs everyday to read the study notes
Next up is Financial Statement Analysis.

Yea why not. If you are registered for Level I for example you could say "Studing for CFA Level 1 exams" in your CV.
