Vista plus anything is a mess.

Have an HP DV series.  I downgraded the second time I plugged it in to the power source with my HP boot disc for my desktop.  It runs so faster than what was preloaded but I believe the laptop is poorly designed.

Well, there is good news.  Microsoft has admitted to Vista being a mistake and they will assist you in downgrading to XP but you'll have to prove that you have a valid Vista copy.  As for your Audio, you need the name of the audio device fitted and the model ID/number and type, then look for the drivers.  Might Microsoft High Definition Coxenant.

It depends on what your definition of great is.  IT's and a hundred and fifty million americans cannot be wrong.  I am yet to meet a person physically that appreciates Vista (even the novice).  Wait till you start having system errors or instability and a change of opinion would be considered.

thegame, leave macgreat. At least, he is able to pass his problem across to us.

You know what, macgreat, if it is audio problem you are having with your laptop, try to know the model number of your system, go to Toshiba's website and download audio driver for your system. But remember to select Winxp pro as the operating system.
Install the driver after downloading. You system should now be able to produce sound.

Good luck.
