I have been dating a Nigerian for a short period of time (about 2 months). I am American, born and bred in North Carolina. I have to say that I have fallen for him completely. I have not been treated as well as he has treated me in a short period of time. I have totally let down my walls of security, I have given him all that I have. I know that I am falling for him. I know love has no boundaries, but is it too soon? I know that our cultures are different, and I don't want to misunderstand anything, can someone from Nigeria who is impartial to Nigerians dating American women enlighten me on this situation. I would like to add that I really care for him uncoditionally. I don't know why, but my heart and mind is totally engrossed in his spirit. Let me know what's up. Thanks.

HI Chanty
I too am from the states, white and in love with a Naija man. I fell for him almost immediately, well the second date, lol. I find him to be very true to his word. Very well thought out in his feelings, what he expects and what he can offer. He has his challenges, work, kids, ex-wife, family in Africa, but it's all good between us. We move slowly and discuss everything from what we are experiencing to what we are feeling. We are cautious but developing a strong love that will not leave either of us. As with any relationship walk slowly. Examine everything in retrospection, and know that you need to be committed mind, body and soul.
Congratulations on finding someone you are so excited about. It's a great feeling.
