i just want to add that while your observations are to an extent correct, on the average internet scammers are not making good money from the scams, they do other legitimate online businesses that fetch them good money, or do you think people don't make great fortune from the net that they quit their 8-5 jobs?but in this part of the earth we associate anything online to fraud, thats quite unfortunate because thats the major reason why we are still this much much in the dark in this part of the world.

African can hardly be united. I can see the whole issue on the table has been turn around and it’s all into a dispute of racism. Too bad cause out they don’t see South Africans or Nigerians any much better… we are seen as colored and a third world countries… afflicted with diseases.
But in-mates… we (Nigerian) are seen as intelligent people worldwide and have contributed into the development of developed counties. Yeah, I agree Nigerians are good with fraud and all that… and it because we have got the brain and our government still didn’t give us a suitable available resource to develop them… and the internet has been one way guys see they can develop their brain power. I also see on the internet that you could make money just sitting at home with your computer *smile* And Y! Boy makes it happen… Brain Power I may say. I am not in support of it, but those guys in a way have potentials… but wrongly utilizing them.
As for S. Africans… I learnt they have guns/knives that could serve the whole of Lagos (if not, why do every juvenile have one?) and could tell if you have any valuable even if it’s as tiny as an animalcule… would even kill you if you don’t drop your pants for them *gash!*
I think when it comes to crime both Country sucks… but one sucks than the other. Nigerians steals with the brain/internet. While S. Africans steals with deadly weapons and even rapes (no wonder they AIDS rate is a skyscraper).

Poster, I think your measure of respect for Yahoo boys is way out of proportion. Your post says it all.
The answer to your question is simple:
SOME girls prefer yahoo boys cause they are far too ready to spend the money they didn't make genuinely.
SOME girls stick with yahoo boys in hope of marital commitment laced with 'goodies'. Most times, they get disappointed.
The part you may never get to hear is that nothing lasts for ever.
I have found out one thing anyway, Yahoo boys will always want to impress you with their lavish lifestyle no matter your gender. But watch their eyes nearly pop out of their sockets when you care less about their antics, earn decent income and leave your mark on everyone you come accross. Greed and envy go together.
