Mob(mafia) Movies.
« on: December 11, 2007, 01:35 PM »

It seems every mob movie available is a classic.they are released like once in 9 years.from Godfather to d grimy Goodfellas, casino, the last don, donnie brasco and d very few remaining,if these movies don't make sales out of d cinema, they'd certainly succeed from dvd and vhs sales.

I think the best mob movie i've seen was 'boss of bosses'. It chronicles d life of d gambino family and its fall.

Whats your greatest mafia movie?

Goodfellas is the best. Remember its a true-life story.

I think the Departed too, is sorta like a new version of a true story previously told. The mafia is very real so they can't run out real stories. The Godfather remains the best for me though, best cast, best story, best dialogue, best adaptation, and arguably the best work of the great director. Peace!

i agree wit u bgees, mafia films never seem to run out of stories, and thy're not very common so u tend to cherish them when u see em. i think goodfellas was the  best of em(the idea of narrating the storyline alongside the film was really thrilling). carlito's way too. betrayal. donnie braasco was good too.

will try and see boss of bosses. never evven heard of it

the good thing about donnie brasco was that, it educated everyone about the mob culture and ethics like :mafia members don't wear jeans(denim).
they don't keep their  moustach,
mafia members don't use wallets.
and they don't pay for drinks.

another worthy note on donnie brasco was that the characters bore a striking resemblance to the real guys they portrayed.
