Politics / Nigerian Diplomats Rack Up £70MIL Bill After Refusing To Pay Congestion Charge by noso_2004: 9:32pm On May 16
Making up the top five are the Nigerian high commission on £4 million and the German embassy, which owes £3.8 million.

The congestion charge, which brings in around £110 million a year, currently costs £10 and is active in certain areas of London from 7am to 6pm on weekdays.

For the £70 million owed by embassies, TfL could employ 3,000 bus drivers for a year or pay for 368 double-decker buses.

Go to Germany and see Frankfurt and Cologne, you will like the Cologne cathedral (Dom), beautiful view from the cathedral (Dom) downwards the station and also the river Rhine, very beautiful city.

Please don't spend much time in Parish or London, very drab and ugly scenes await you in those places. You should also see Zurich lovely city, Barcelona Central top place, I like the Spanish Metro.

Go to Sweden, take a train journey via the Scania strait Amager to Denmark (Oresung Bridge). Good value for money, I haven't been there my friends that went is planning another trip.

France has some very lovely cities too, what seems attractive to me might not be to you, you should check google pictures in advance. Have a good trip

Oh then, it must be my misunderstanding. I thought your argument was one based on the simplistic notion that corruption is the cause of the relative poverty of Nigerians.

BTW

Please, for all you who believe that corruption is the root cause of every ill in Nigeria, note that the cause of my poor education in Nigeria was not due to anyone's corruption, the fault lies primarily with me and those immediately around me.

Don't erroneously accept responsibility for something you haven't done simply because you are trying to change the perspective of a country's people and or make a point.

The fact is that, corruption, substandard education, greed, and so many things is associated to Nigeria's failure, of which corruption is the bedrock of these calamities either you accept it or not is entirely up to you. They have just had election in Malta in which a party that has not been in power for more than a decade has just been re-elected back into power, The elected prime minister during the campaign promised to abolished immunity for anyone in government as it's presence does nothing other than encourage everyone and anyone to be involved with corruption.

Do you know of any major country and or democratic one for that matter, that has immunity for anyone in government? It is shocking however, that you know so much than the average Nigerians who understand their suffering and know corruption is a major problem standing in the way of developing Nigeria.

I am not emotionally affected perhaps one could say in the past I have been, it's got absolutely nothing to do with me the state of the country, one thing for sure though; we will only experience change when people of your thinking are at a record low in the community.
Politics / Re: Abuja - The City Beautiful (Pictures) by noso_2004: 11:10am On Apr 17
@ Litmus. Could you point out where in my post I assumed infrastructure to be the bedrock of honesty and transparency? North Korea as expected would be below in Nigeria in the league table of corrupt countries of course why is that surprising to you?
A quick google research will educate you of the suffering of the people of North Korea.

I am not surprised by you, it seems you have only learned about North Korea simply because the threat of them starting a nuclear war with the south has been popping up on your television screen recently, for someone as knowledgeable as you claimed, to use North Korea as yardstick with Nigeria is quite alarming; I will not go on to educate you as to why we should have never been put on the same standard of measurement with this poverty riddled country, if you are so interested as to why you should look it up yourself.

How could anything be fascinating about North Korea to a Nigerian? You have lost track not just now but long before now, and there we go, using Zimbabwe as a bedrock of infrastructure which equate to honesty and transparency.

You have so been brainwashed to even understand what happens right in front of your nose is a major difficulty, I am not surprised by that, you seems like someone have been educated with the less priviledge and you have never been taught how to reason and research for things independently.

I have visited countries with almost no infrastructures and with a very high standard of living, that is what am talking about, that is what matters to an average Nigerian. You are a waste of my time to be honest

I'll be happy to continue. grin

You didn't disappoint me, you've only managed to successfully disappoint yourself, if there is any dignity and or pride in you and if I were you I would refrain from further posts.

So you can conveniently list Egypt as an example of a least corrupt country? And that is why the people of Egypt had not tried to depose a president that had ruled them for more than three decades?

Indonesia, India? Kenya? really? what are you? where did you study? how can these be a standard for comparison of least of corrupt country?

Even I was in Malta for holiday, before I arrived I had researched information about the country and Malta is regarded as one of the most corrupt country in the EU, it wasn't surprising I experienced a 7 hours electricity disruption during my 2 months stay.

But believe me for the past 10 years that I have been in north Europe, I haven't experienced a minute electricity disruption. I am not surprised by you, you are the type of person who can never be wrong.

And assuming we aren't too corrupt as we are right now wouldn't we be able to light up this country on a constant basis? I would assume you have not been outside of your state let alone visiting our tiny neighbours? Yes not being able to afford to generate constant electricity is a vivid example of a corrupt country, please prove me wrong by citing an example, slowpoke.

With your atrocious spelling you managed to escape the ''90%'' and can afford to post online and surf.

The country must be doing much better than you think.

With all the effort you put in to upload these pictures, you had to ruin your hard work with disturbing assessment of the Nigeria situation, you are beginning to sound condescending and corrupt with these type of comment.

If you interpret being able to afford to surf the internet as an epitome of a country doing good, you must the biggest joke of April. In as much as people like you would go any length to be right at no cost, it's not worth disagreeing with you in the first place. You appear as someone who will never accept they are wrong even when they appear obviously wrong.

So Nigeria is not corrupt then? We enjoy 72 hours electricity for the start, as oppose to Washington who are so corrupt they cannot afford to light the city for a constant 24hr period?

ignorance is bliss for real, the bill that is yet to be signed into law is against gay marriage and public display of affection by gay people, that law is not against people being gay or having intimate relationship by gay people, get the different before you continue making fool of yourself.

As for FIFA rule on intimate discrimination..i will not going to do the dirty job for you, i rather point you to where to read, go and read FIFA Code of Ethics number 23 of non-discrimination then learn from there and save yourself this display of ignorance.

When FIFA suspended NFF in 2010 because of government interference in the running of Nigerian football what did you and other hot-air blower did? Nothing, the govt back tracted and the suspension was lifted.

Justwise are you sure you know what you are talking about? GAY MARRIAGE? Nigeria is not the UK you do understand, we as a people do not even recognize GAY people in civil partnership let alone talking about GAY marriage.

Government interference in football is not enshrined in our law is it? This is law it is not the same as Govt interference in football. I say go back to your travel section to promote your childish drivel.

You just managed to post rubbish about a bill you know little about, who told you that signing that bill into law will prevent lesbian players from playing for Nigeria? Tell me any part of that bill that state that since your little jelly fish brain is deceiving you again today as usual.

Yes FIFA rules will over rule Nigeria law, Nigeria should not be part of any organization which rules they do not agree with. FIFA rule on intimate discrimination has being in place for ages and Nigeria signed it as a member state.

Yes I agree I know little about this bill in question, it would help if you could point out how countries like Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, would be be kicked out too for not allowing lesbianism in their female national team. Just as well you really do not know much about international affair just stay at your travel section and do not post on things which is beyond your understanding.

Could you also provide a link to support your argument on the FIFA rule on intimate discrimination which has been in place for a decade long? I tell you FIFA does not have the spheres to kick the Nigeria female team out if this is our law then it is our law.

I for one, and so many in this country will not allow some fat men with belly pots in Switzerland to dictate to our elected legislators, I know this is not a problem for you, FIFA knows the gravity of kicking us out and will dare not.

If homosexuality is to become illegal in Nigeria, would the female national team be excluded from that law, a separate law will apply to them simply because FIFA says that?
Sports / Re: NFF Queried For Ban On Lesbian Players by noso_2004: 11:36pm On Mar 09

FIFA will kick Nigeria female team out of many international competitions because of this and Nigeria can't do poo about it.

You don't have to comment on things which you do not have sufficient knowledge of, FIFA cannot kick out Nigeria female team as you claimed, there is a court that will indeed overturn that decision if FIFA will ever take that action, or in your little world you think the FIFA is answerable to no one? If the President signs the bill, homosexuality will become a crime in the country, FIFA cannot overturn the decision of elected legislators. I just hate it when you spout nonsense for the sake of it.

I pray for more of this misfortune to continue, perhaps the weak Nigerians will wake from their sleep? I regret having any link with this generation of mediocre, foolish ugly leaders, scum voters, completely below average set of people, why the heck will anyone even come out to vote for any of these people?

Corruption has been worser in past regimes, they always covers it up but the coming of GEJ and the freedom of information act that GEJ signed made those happenings in Government to be brought to limelight for all to see do you think GEJ doesn't know the implications before he signed it?. Stop blaming GEJ for this countrys woes. How do you expect him to fix a rot that took over 40yrs in just 3yrs or so in office.

Even after GEJ corruption will still remain in Nigeria but will always be covered up, his removal of the subsidy revealed lots of crimes that has been commitied under the subsidy payment issue.

We are our own problems, do you know the tribal sentiments/pressure that arises whenever you want to prosecute a suspect?. Ok we all know that Tinubu is a criminal even his supporters know it though they might not admit it but let us prosecute him now and you will see yourobas running aroung and shouting PDP do this PDP do that, leave tinubu alone this and that same with IBB and Buhari. The problem of Buhari is that he doesn't have much time to steal much before IBB sacked him. But none of those people will be prosecuted without sentiments from their tribe men and woman. So how do you expect corruption to be fixed in Nigeria.

Like I always said, am yet to see a solution to the problems of Nigeria. You guys always look for fault to blame GEJ for not prosecuting these suspected criminals. The ones he prosecuted how did it always go? They will always be released by the court at the end of the day or do you expect GEJ to go against the court rules so that you will also start complaning. Is obvious a lot of people don't know the problem of Nigeria.

Our Police force is rotten, will you blame GEJ for it?

The efcc OBJ created is the worst of them all, will you blame GEJ for it?.

The Judiciary is as corrupt as the police force, will you blame GEJ for it?.

Maybe GEJ should start doing the work of the police, efcc and the judiciary by himself.

Are you naturally not smart? or you have just turned yourself dumb simply by not being able to understand what's happening around you?

You must be too retarden to think anyone believes this nonsense you wrote up there, this is just an example of who you are, a typical example of a failed country.

OLEEEEEEEEEEEEE BARAWOOOOOOOOOOOO. MONKEY BROTHER, CHIMP

The Nigerian president spent $1million of aid money to entice international popstars such as Beyonce and Jay-Z to perform at a music festival in the poverty-stricken country, a media source reported.
A letter stamped and signed by Bayelsa State officials in 2006 revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan, then the Governor of the state, released 150million Nigerian Nairas from the state’s poverty alleviation fund for the inaugural ThisDay Music Festival in the city of Lagos in 2006, according to SaharaReporters.
The document surfaced after reality TV star Kim Kardashian was reportedly paid $500,000 (£329,695) for a fleeting appearance in Lagos last week, angering Nigerian commentators.

I appreciate your input, I am however not in any situation warranting the need for such documents. It is more of a general discussion as I have seen british, Irish, Germans et al admitted in to their respective countries with just a birth certificate, although this is not widely encouraged but they sure must admit them into their countries in cases where individual appear not to have a valid passport for travel.

I have read situations whereby children, or people who are Nigerians and have not yet obtained a Nigerian passport been issued a visa on their European passports before commencing a journey onward to Nigeria. For example a British citizen cannot and will not be issued a visa to enter the United Kingdom, I do not know the Nigerian Border services operative on such matters, is it down to the ignorance of the children parents/individual? or this is indeed the standard procedure.
