Hello house,

I just checked my two (2) tubular batteries, and the cell levels at battery A differ from those at battery B.

Is there any reason to be concerned? The levels in each battery are the same.

I've given you a way to confirm if it's pure or not. Leave manual alone for now.

Alright, thanks.

Even some that have "pure" in them are not really PSW inverters.

Are you saying it's the same? Really concerned about my refrigerator.

Connect a normal standing fan to the supply, listen closely while switching it on. If you hear a hum from the motor compartment, then it's most likely a modified square wave inverter.

Thanks for the response.

I just checked the inverter manual.

The output waveform is listed as Sinewave. Is it the same as Pure Sinewave?

I just hope he didn't run a freezer with an MSW Inverter. Apparently the compressor coils are bad. Your suggestion of a professional fridge repairer is in order.

What's the DIY way to determine if my inverter is pure sine?

I recently experienced the same problem. I had to get a new refrigerator as the repairers in my location could not fix the problem even after getting a new compressor.

From my smart home apps, there is a slight variation in my wall sockets, around 1 voltage difference.

My package has been "customs clearance started" since 30th of March. Is that normal?

It can happen sometimes. Maybe the Easter holiday slowed things down.

Family / Re: Please Recommend Brand Of Fridge/deep Freezer To Buy by Olarewajub: 7:09am On Mar 19

Please can the house recommend a brand of fridge and deep freezer to buy.

I bought A Nexus Fridge/Freezer, worked for 2yrs thereabout, went bad, repaired it and worked for 2months, it packed up and I gave it out

Bought Brhum deep freezer, worked for 3yrs and packed up, recently repaired it and it has gone bad again.

I dont intend to repair again. When growing up, fridges used to last very long, my experiences with these newer models, is not a good one

I am almost tempted to buy fairly used fridge from Europe.

Any suggestion or brand recommendation

What product did you end up buying?

It will increase it. That thing dey gulp prepaid like mad.
Once in a while I use PHCN to charge my battery too and I notice a significant drop in my remaining unit.
It also depends on your battery capacity sha.

Thanks for the response.

I will stick with manually using the changeover to switch between the inverter and PHCN. That way, my battery won't get charged with PHCN.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Olarewajub: 7:46pm On Jan 05
Good evening, house.

So, for almost a year, I have been off the grid. But recently, I decided to connect back to the grid.

My installer made a connection between the power from the grid and my inverter. So, if they take the light, it automatically switches to the battery power.

Now, my dilemma is that I share a prepaid meter with four other (4) tenants. Would this connection not increase the electricity bill?

PS: My panel is enough to charge my battery, except for this period, I don't get enough sunlight due to their orientation on the roof. I will switch back to off-grid in the coming month.

Hello AE shoppers. Who's had an experience with this before? I was ordering an item using my UBA naira mastercard, then when it got to the payment gateway redirection I was debited twice before an otp was sent to me. I entered the otp and got a balance not enough response from AliExpress (meaning I would've been charged a third time). In all this, the order still remained in the unpaid category. I've contacted bank and those ones are telling me to correspond with AliExpress first before they can initiate a "charge back" process.

Did you get the refund from UBA, how was the debit issue resolved?

Please which brand of quality solar ceiling fan can I get for my setup. I bought the Ecool solar fan and it was total rubbish, developed issues within 1 month and it has finally packed up. Please if you have used any low power ceiling fan that served you for long, kindly recommend the particular brand for me. Thanks

Get the 33W Qasa Standing fan.

I used it for three nights without charging.

Check Jumia for more info and reviews.

The voltage of the panels is what will determine if you should go for higher wattage of panels.

Generally, it's advisable to go for more two set of same wattage (i.e 190w), this will keep you CC in safe limit

Thanks for your response.

I did the calculations, and went with your suggestions.

Everything is working fine here.

Attached is a picture of my Charge controller spec.

Panel: 4 panels (190 watts each)

Battery: 2 tubular Batteries (220ah)

MPPT Charge controller: 40A

Inverter: 24v

I want to get an addition of two panels (250-300Watt).

Would this be too much for the controller?

You may need to add two more panels for efficient charging of your batteries.

Yea, I have in mind to do that as soon as possible.

Nice, do your batteries float daily?

What's your load like?

No, my battery does not float daily due to the cloudly weather here.

My load is pretty low. Highest consumption comes from my double door refrigerator.

Okay, the first one I bought last year was 32k, bought another one with same Qasa panel between March/April this year for 42k, the 2k difference is fair.

You don't need much maths, just state the Watts of your panels, how many panels, no of batteries, charge controller amp that's all.

The essence is for prospective solar people to have ideas of what to go for.

Panel: 4 panels (190 watt each)

Battery: 2 tubular Batteries (220ah)

MPPT Charge controller: 50A

Inverter: 24v Addo Inverter

This serves me 24 hours off the grid

Since you have solar already, you can charge with it, but ensure it's fully charged before you start using it.

I bought mine since March 2022, and it's still going strong.

Those who bought few months ago are complaining because they use it wrongly.

Do you mind sharing how much precisely you bought yours?

Also, do you care to share your solar setup?

Thank you very much.

I got the fan for 44k, though it is 42k on Jumia.

Concerning the Solar setup, I would need to do some confirmations.

I am still new to the PV system, especially the calculations.

When you newly bought it, you MUST charge it to full capacity (the light will turn Green when fully charged), doing this with NEPA light could take up to 12hours, after it's charged you can start using it while it's charging.

I advise you buy Qasa 20w(15k minimum) panel to charge this fan effectively.

With the panel it get to float by 11am/12 noon

My home is fully off the grid (no NEPA or generator).

Would you still advise I get the 20W panel?

I use Qasa rechargeable fan + Qasa 20w panel, don't charge it with Generator and don't use it to charge your phone, then set it at speed 2 at night and it would last you till dawn plus some charge left over.

It's sold for 40k+

Hello, thanks once again for your suggestion.

I just got the fan.

A quick question, can I use the fan while charging or it must be used only on the battery?

most of them have similar consumption.

That's true.

I am looking at the rechargeable battery capacity.

That's why I am looking out for reputable brands that will give value for money.

Mine doesn't seem to charge pass the two mark as shown in the attached image.
