Health / Genotype Cc,sc &ac by oluite(f): 2:44am On Mar 08, 2023
Most of us are familiar with genotype AA,AS & SS but not very conversant with genotype CC,SC & AC.

There are actuallly 6 genotypes in all and they are AA,AS,AC,SS,SC,CC. Genotype AA is the healthy and universally compatible with all other genotype. Genotype AS,AC, do present any symptoms but the combination of AS and AC can result in the genotype SS,SC & CC which present with serious health challenges like sickle cell disease.

Have you checked your genotype ? It is a very important step to take.

Politics / Post Offices In Lagos And Thier Charges by oluite(f): 5:52pm On Jan 29, 2015
I am not to sure if this is the appropriate section to post this, please moderators kindly assist post in appropriate section.Thank you.

Please i noticed that for sometime now post offices in Lagos charge about N500.00 each to pick up packages from abroad. For instance,if you have 4(four) parcels to pick up,you will have to pay N2000.00 and you will be issue a receipt as well.I complained to the post office staff and was told all post office in Lagos charge this N500.00and its called handling charge.
I think this is simply ridiculous. I get you have to pay to send parcel but i don't get the rationale behind having to pay to pick up your parcels bearing in mind that the sender has paid to have the parcel sent in the first place.

Is this normal practice in other developed countries?
To who and how can one make a formal complaint about this?

@Poster
You need to see a gyneacologist and do a full hormonal assessment. Hormonal imbalance and other medical conditions can cause irregular periods as well not neccessarily menopause. Please go to the hospital and makesure you see a gyneacologist.

There is nothing wrong as partners with AA and SS blood groups will have children with AS blood group(carriers) and not sicklers. She only has to encourage him to have a healthy lifestyle and go for regular checkups.

A profession doesn't necessarily define a person. One could be a cleaner with a nasty attitude, one could be banker with a nasty attitude as well. You could also find a well behaved banker or cleaner. You have the good, bad, ugly all sorts of individuals. They are people inspite of their profession.

Sweetheart,
Until you are married to him you aren't entitled to any of his properties. You should be thinking of getting your own ride if you want a car that badly.

Rudebwoy:

Op, you have no case there. Listen to my story in brief:

my ex deceived me about her genotype. (a lot happened about the genotype ish that I didn't know) and we got married.

Before we got marriage, I tried to find out her age, but she refused to tell me. I decided to leave it till after the marriage so as to give her reason to tell me (as her husband). But after the marriage, yet she refused to tell me her age.

She had fibroid and was nursing it for about a year and did not tell me. I found out about it from her post here on nairaland but I didn't ask her.(she is a nairalander, but she didn't know I knew her monicker) after about a year, she decided to tell me she had fibroid.

to cut the long story short, one day, I went to work, she packed her belongings and left my house, sent me a text message that she was gone. and that's the end of the marriage.

she will come here to read this post.

so op, your case is no case. Enjoy your marriage.

I am really sorry but are you serious about getting married without knowing your spouse's age?!

Nairaland / General / Some BRT Buses In Lagos Drive Without Headlights At Night! by oluite(f): 11:58am On Oct 24, 2014
I am not too sure what section to post this that is why i posted here, hope the mods will help out if necessary.

On several occasions i have seen BRTs in Lagos driving at night without headlight. On one occasion i happened to be a passenger,i had boarded the BRT in the evening when it was still bright but we got stuck in traffic till it was dark the bus had no head light so the driver turn on the light inside the bus.I was so thankful to get off that bus.
Fast forward to yesterday evening at costain bus-stop,a BRT just joined the express with no headlights right in front of our car thankfully nothing happened but after that incident i counted about four BRTs(2 red one and 2 blues) with no headlights driving in the dark till we got to stadium and veered off the main road.
Please can someone kindly call the management of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority to this very worrisome trend.Thank you.

I am more of ardent reader on the health section but I do recall bettle calling her out. It caused a very huge row because many felt she was an angel.Infact the TTC thread had to be shutdown for a day with the moderators threathening to permanently close thread if people didn't calm down, many user deactivated their account and I might be wrong but that thread wasn't the same again.
@Beetle wherever you are you have been vindicated. This just renforces what we all know, the truth will always show up.It may be hidden for years but it will speak up one day.
