Nairaland / General / Keep The Fire Burning, Chase Your Dreams... The Excel Chat (010) by PhilipKJ(m): 3:04pm On May 08, 2018
Simply Mind blowing -

http://www.thecrescendoblog.com/2018/05/keep-fire-burning-chase-your-dreams.html

I know Nigeria's legendary singer, 2face Idibia lyrics may come to mind as we use same phrase as in one of his hit songs "keep the fire burning". Well, anyhow you look at it, that phrase is nothing less than intense and strong, no matter how it is used.

I remember a night some friends and I returned late and hungry. We bought food stuffs earlier and wanted to settle to a late prepared meal. There was just one match stick left and the person who was cooking wasn't aware. After parboiling the meat, the person switched off only to be informed later that there was no match stick in the house again. You can imagine four hungry guys around mid night with no way to light back the gas cooker. Every other thing was available and in place but the fire was gone. If the fire of pursuit dies out, your dreams drown into oblivion.

This concise article is to stir a fire in you to chase your dreams. Dreams don't just come true, they are made to happen, they are pursued. Give yours a chase! Kimani Maruge, the old Kenyan enrolled in Primary School at the age of 84. He always had a dream of going to school and never achieved the feat till it looked like it was all winding up. He hit his dream by entering first grade in January 12th 2004. He holds the Guiness world record for being the oldest pupil ever as a result. This story sums it up. You can chase that dream, its as simple as ABC...

Please don't give up on those golden dreams of yours!

Business / Business Flakes (007) by PhilipKJ(m): 6:55pm On Apr 20, 2018
http://www.thecrescendoblog.com/2018/04/business-flakes-008.html

If you haven't read Business Flakes before, you are really missing. It is designed for contemporary, cutting edge business practitioners. It never takes more than four minutes to read through but the short write-up goes a long way in triggering monumental results, resolve to read Business Flakes weekly on the Crescendo Blog. It's simple but profound in efficiency build up, and I know you know, efficiency is almost all that matters in closing deals! This is more or less figurative!

This week, see what we got for you:

The Next BIG Idea!

I follow Bill Gates on twitter, he does tweet many times a day. My follower-ship is very intentional because I love successful people and I know relationship matters a whole lot. I try to discipline myself never to sustain useless relationships. Bill really inspires me. His tweet, just two days ago got me thinking and I like to write on that line. He wrote, "as an investor I am constantly on the look out for the next BIG idea". The statement jumped into me.

Ideas rule the world. Life would be ideal when the right ideas are gotten and put to use, so is business. Many are simply driven by a need to make profit in business and that's what drives them but a business propelled and plunged into by an idea would always stand out. Ideas are golden.

If Bill Gates is always on the look out then you should be, even more! Ideas pop up more from exposure and observation. Henry Ford's first automobile didn't have a reverse gear. They must have gotten stuck somewhere while driving and observed that there was need for backwards move. Be observant, be sensitive, think! Ideas abound waiting to be recognized. You may have a lot of competitors but if your ideas can surpass theirs, nothing can stop you from performing better than them. Step out, watch out, never move without grand ideas.

Health / Cleaner Lagos Ends Up Producing A Dirtier Lagos by PhilipKJ(m): 12:23pm On Apr 19, 2018
Though, the present Governor of Lagos State is doing well, relative to his contemporaries, a health issue respective to waste disposal looms...

In this intriguing and enlightening article, the Crescendo Team looks into the waste disposal abnormalities in the Centre of Excellence!

The Article:

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is obviously and undoubtedly one of the current best Nigerian Governors. It's a fact that even the blind can see and the deaf hear. To pick on him in any issue will be like sneeze in the midst of a good belly laughter. I for one would not love to engage in it for the time being, perhaps unless things take a different turn. Am in no way saying, he is overly exceptional but praising him in terms of relativity to other sitting Governors and his predecessors in the famed centre of excellence! So far so good, he is doing pretty well even if I am not very satisfied at the way he is approaching some of the infrastructural projects all at once. This isn't in any way to speak from both sides of my mouth but it is superficially calling a spade a spade (continued, please read the full detail from the link below).

Business / Business Flakes (007) From The Crescendo Blog by PhilipKJ(m): 4:11pm On Apr 05, 2018
It's another edition of your weekly Business Flakes! Several commendations have been pouring in from many who have keenly enjoyed and followed up this weekly series, and I hope this module will in no way be less! Here is it below:

www.thecrescendoblog.com

The People's Advantage

The truth of the matter is that you can't be the sole patronizer of your business, you need others to do so. The more the people, the greater your advantage. If you are anti people, you do so at the peril of your self and the business. However, not everyone is needed for your business to thrive, this is where the concept of a target market comes into play, notwithstanding, even those outside the circumference of your target market could in so many ways still be of help to your business indirectly.

The crust of the matter is that you really need people. Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook has made him the current fifth richest man in the world, a monumental rise over the last decade, phenomenal in every sense! Why? We are the reason for his success, we all patronized him. People love and use Facebook a lot. Take it or leave it, you success depends a whole lot on people!

You must hence, be people oriented, think from their perspective above yours, hone interpersonal skills and engage in building bridges - reach people through marketing, advertisement and all other available avenues.

Before I sign out on this issue of discuss, I like to ask you a very vital question. If you were someone else, how would you see your business as regards satisfaction, attraction and the like? Would you forgo everyone else for you, your services or offers? Would you have been attracted in the midst of several others?

The problem is that we all see things from our eyes, to be people oriented, you must start learning to see the world from their eyes. It's not about what I love but what they love, and in some other cases, not just what they want but what they need.

- Adolf Hitler

"Don't only prepare to do it, take a step to actually do it! Put this at the back of your mind as well, certain things you are to do later may have some present actions you can take at the moment, take them now!"
- Philip Kpeke-Johnson

"Solomon was inspired to write one of the chapters of the book of Proverbs after coming across an abandoned farmland, you can learn from anyone or anything, even from Adolf Hitler despite all the atrocities he committed".
