Hi guys I have decided to open this thread for all those who want to be kept abreast of the movie/TV audition notices. I will be starting with Lagos. If there is a TV/ movie producer, music director or modeling agent out there who wants to publicise his/her audition for his/her job you can paste it here. For those who want to join the industry watch this space

Here are the first ones. If u are anywhere near Iyana Ipaja there is an audition by a Russian company at Havilah suites, Gowon estate Iyana Ipaja today. If u can't make that don't miss the one at 7 asiata solarin crescent off olusosun busstop, beside zenith bank by Ojota motor park today and tomorrow by 9am. Lastly there is another one at 10 solabomi street off oladimeji street, Aguda, surulere call 08167088777 and 07031136601 for details.

For all these auditions come with a 5X7 picture of yourself. Good luck

@Villageboi Thanks for the compliments dude. By the way to all the newbie actors and actresses disregard any audition notices that tell you to pay before they are auditioned. They usually have no money to produce their job and want to use you as the financier without your knowledge. They never I repeat never pay artistes for their work. I fell into this trap when I started three years ago so take heed.

You're very welcome. Lololol I have no intention of EVER auditioning, I'm not an actor and never want to be one. I'm happy to write/direct/DOP/edit and so on - more of a behind-the-scenes kinda guy... for now.

If u are in Lagos, heads up. There's an audition on august 9th (Tomorrow) at Audio Visual First(AVF) 34 Foluso Alade street off Omodara street Awuse estate by salvation bus stop Opebi road Ikeja by 11 am. This company has handled many reality shows so try and make it there.

There is another audition on August 11th(Saturday) by Redemption Peace foundation for their nationwide peace campaign TV advert. They are looking for actors and actresses of btw ages 20-50 years and it's holding by 11 am at 14 college road Ifako/Ijaiye Ogba after Sumori comprehensive high school opposite golden records before jungle bus stop. By the way there's a program for those interested in honing their acting skills called the reel project actors workshop. It will hold at Eko FM studios, Lagos television(LTV)compound, Agidingbi, Ikeja from Sept 24 to Sept 28. Participants will have a chance to feature in a movie project by the organizers so if u are interested pick up a form at the pre workshop screening at 3 mabinuori dawodu street, Charly boy bus stop Gbagada on Sept 1, 11am. I'm sorry I can't help with that. Your best bet will be going to Enugu or Asaba as I don't think the movie industry in Owerri is viable as the areas i just mentioned. I may be wrong but Enugu and Asaba are the main movie hubs in Eastern Nigeria

I

I helped in conducting the Tv Series audition at Festac and I made some observations which I want to bring to the knowledge of the house.
1. Work on your confidence and self esteem. This is important as if you don't have it how can you successfully portray another character. Producers don't like people with low self esteem so work on it. NB- a girl got a part that was previously reserved for a star all because of the way she exuded her self confidence( Please try not to be arrogant and state that as self confidence!)
2. Be ready for any thing when it comes to auditioning. Sometimes when an artiste speaks the producer already knows if he/she wants him/her in the production before the reading of the script. Some auditions rely on the popular reading test but some producers choose to be creative in how they audition. A simple chit chat could be an audition so be careful.
3. When presenting pictures bring one that is studio based as motion pictures depict a lack of seriousness. The pictures must preferably be in three quarter mode or full(Don't bring head shots). The less of photo-shop(editing) in your pictures the better for you and get the most recent picture you have.
4. Dress well. I know that the industry promotes informality but please don't wear a pair of slippers or some dirty clothes to an audition(Trust me I noticed a few who did this. Needless to say that they were not auditioned). Dress well even while informally.(If u choose)You wouldn't dress terribly to a job interview would you?
5. I know things can get hectic at auditioning but please that's no reason to be a cry baby. This gives the impression that you won't be able to cope when you're on set. I'm not in favor of disorganized auditions but zip up your mouth when u feel like complaining(This cost me a part in a TV series this year)Have a great day.
