Hello house.. How easy is it to get a schengen visa while a student in the UK? Pls has anybody applied to visit Spain or Italy from Uk?
@ Justwise, are there threads or topics I can get info from?
Please help..

It's possible as long as you can afford it, many I know have done it. No thread here for such.

All you need is letter from your school, admission letter, insurance and your bank statement

Hello house.Pls is there anyone coming to the University of Portsmouth in January? Or anyone currently studying there? I'm coming in for a postgraduate degree (MSc Mechanical engineering).I just need advice on accommodation and other things. How much will I have to pay for accommodation(private) for six months?

Contact your international office for list of private landlords, they are registered with Portsmouth university and safer.

Portsmouth is a bit expensive because its more of proper English city and not overly populated by Asians or Africans. Monthly rent for double bedroom will be from £300 up depending on the area and the condition of the house/room

Good morning
Please I need urgent reply. I'm about booking my flight ticket, going with a Tier 4 visa.
Can I book a one way ticket or is it mandatory that it must be a return ticket?

It may not be mandatory but going with a single ticket can cause complications at point of entry.
At Nigerian airport departure people have had problems and been delayed or had money extorted with single tickets.
Remember that you can be refused even at P.O.E. into Uk or USA just because the officer is not convinced that you are genuine, so why give them any chance?

Yes you can book one way ticket if your course of study is going to be longer than ticket validity which is one year.Dont give in to the antics at the airport here in Nigeria,I am most certain you won't have any issue in the UK point of entry.@worry356 you just like scaring people.

Thanks but what do you mean by antics at the airport. This is my first international flight don't really know how to rigmarole yet. So is it hundred percent doable as in have you done it before and which airline? I'm looking at British Airways to Glasgow.

This is the problem, there should be nothing like first time traveller,as long as you meet the conditions to fly no airline has the right to delay you.ticket validity is one calendar year so since your visa is valid for more than the validity you have no problem, lots of student do travel on one way tickets, just don't shake at the nigerian airport they will want to say so many rubbish to make u part with some cash, you are a student be firm and don't bulge. It is 100% do able
Re: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by DisGuy: 12:19pm On Nov 21, 2014
the problem I heard was mainly Arik Airline requesting return tickets and many 'nervous' people didnt stand their ground
