I said it before and i repeat, you are a very big FOOL. If you were not an IDDIOTT, you would see a correlation between between size in population and IGR. Would the IGR in lagos today be achievable if your clannish and ethnocentric governor and your hate-filled ilks succeeded in deporting every tax-paying non yoruba person?

Why not shut up for a while and use your commonsense. What's the population of lagos? What's the population kano? Where do hear IGR pf a place is a reflection of the size of its population? Why do you people just come online and talk with reasoning upside down?

Is it the igbo man selling okrika in oshodi, the tokunbo spare part seller in ladipo or the one running after traffic selling gala that makes up the value of the IGR in lagos. Do those ones even pay tax at all? You people should stop being infantile in your reasoning and then start crying like lost sheeps without sherperds.

Lagos and its leadership by APC has eggheads not seen anywhere else in this country . Fact.......

The recent decline in Nigeria's oil revenue has now exposed the lies put forward by the managers of our economy since 1999 and particularly in the past 5years, whose only economic achievement has been the re-base which now placed it ahead of SA, nonetheless an average Nigerian cannot feel the impact of broaden economy in their lives. While the wool has been pulled out of Nigerians who now see how they have been deceived, misled and cajoled into believing that we have been making progress, the rest saTANist who are wandering on this forum in an attempt to water down the achievement of Lagos increased IGR championed by Tinubu and Fashola are only on a futile mission with their comments laced with envy, they should rather channel their energy to their respective governors who has been using their money to play KALOKALO to come and learn from Lagos how IGR is being generated

I find the Janjaweedian Apeeshit apologists to be unusually bereft of simple common sense ( I am not even talking about complicated things like Economics here). Are they pretending to be daft or do they think that the electorate is daft? Now, I would have thought that after the shellacking in Ekiti and narrow escape in Osun, our friends will have realized the futility of their tactics.

I am utterly gob smacked that anyone will think that taxing the populace more ruthlessly (while giving your party chief a huge cut of the said tax) is the ultimate measure of good governance. What happened to measures like school enrolment, performance in standardized tests, access to clean water and sewage facilities, affordable housing, primary health facilities amongst others? It's not how much you can steal from the impoverished masses as IGR that should count but what you actually achieve with the funds.

Put simply, the government doesn't create any money or wealth by taxing me more. It is therefore very interesting that Lagos and other Apeeshit states are also the most indebted in the country. Talk about the classic "tax and spend" socialists. It's even more ironic that states like Anambra under Peter "Nkume" Obi, despite having lower IGR were able to save more and even lend to some of our "high performing" Apeeshit "wunderkinds".

lets face facts,no new policies aimed at raising revenue would be AS RAPID as raising taxes in an emergency situation like this.

lets not throw away the baby with the bath water.
raising taxes is not necessarily a bad thing but raising taxes and looting those taxes is where the problem is.

What are you using your head for? You should have queried the 168 billion from the Federal allocation. Is the allocation for the state and the Local governments, or the state alone? Am sure the allocation is both.

This is a fact that many deluded folks will want to over look, they will rather embark on praise-singing and talk with an air of superiority over others instead of looking at the lager picture

Well they do not pay taxes. I am very unhappy with our government - every single one of them from Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe to Jonathan. They have failed us all. A decline in Oil prices means a short fall in Federal reserves/external revenue and likewise a fall in Federal Allocation, a shortfall in Federal Allocation means State government will commence a guerilla warfare on its people through taxes because they have salaries and bills to pay and also take care of their respective mistresses. An increase in taxes means further economic hardship on people.

If only they saw Oil as one form of revenue and not the ONLY form of revenue, we will not get into this mess. If only they were serious about our education and health care. We would have seen an influx of foreigners coming into these country to get quality education and also health tourists. These foreigners can also be trapped down to develop our economy because you cannot get good education and run away to develop your country. The UK is benefiting hugely from education tourism. India is benefiting now from Healthcare tourism.

Now our government is shouting Agriculture. Everybody is rushing into Agriculture, just like we all rush into Oil and Gas. When we kill that industry, maybe we will look for the next thing to kill. Every sector should be developed and not certain sector. It is unbelievable that since Oil was discovered in 1958, we are yet to have a petroleum industrial bill even as I type this. Nigeria is a land of waste.

Bro, you think I am a liar like you, Tomakint and other shameless Nigerians always using 'football age' that sees grown men of 35 pretending to be 16 on a football pitch and calling young European boys of 18 their "egbon" like the unkept old man Tomakint is doing here shamelessly?

As this is a politics forum, I will use an example of Dimeji Bankole (he is 44) to make a point since he is one of Nigeria's most prominent young Politicians haven been a former speaker HOR.

I urge the entire forum to now pray with me.

If Dimeji Bankole is my egbon (older brother) age-wise then may God continue to bless and accord me success as has been the case till now. Misfortune will then be your lot from now and henceforth if the above is true and the same misfortune should befall me if it is a lie and I am indeed as old as Dimeji Bankole let alone be considered an old man. I say a big Amen to this prayer and Nairalanders are welcomed to help me say amen to this prayer too to make it more potent.

When the misfortune and bad luck begin to come your way then you will know why cool cool cool cool cool

At least we have seen pictures of Tomakint to know 100% he is an ugly, poverty-stricken, shabbily-dressed and urchin-like 'arugbo'.
