i tired contacting the Del sol Medical centre to get a letter from a physician there and they keep refering me back to Doctores Para ti. any ideas how else i can go about it?? if i got to Health grade and get a physician wount the person charge me differently? and if so wnt the physician want me to use the hospital he is domiciled? how i go do am?

Is there a specific reason why you want to use El-Paso (Del Sol) at all cost. I thought some thread members mentioned how flags were raised at the embassy about their package.

If you're going to Texas, there are other hospitals and doctors whose bills compare favourably as well. Do your research on the following hospitals;

West Houston Medical Centre
OakBend Hospital Richmond
Ben Taub
Houston Northwest
Houston Methodist

use google to check their websites and start to call or e-mail their doctors.

I heard four women were deny visa today at Lagos embassy, my cousin did her interview today, and she was number two hundred and something... Na wa o, whats happening, they don't want us to go and give birth in US again. And she ve even paid her doctor 's fee, the Vo went through all her documents, she said she don't know what went wrong. Her appointment was for 8.30am but she was interviewed by past 12 noon cuz the crowd was much.

"As regards Dr fagbohun, i will give a comprehensive breakdown of his charges when wife puts to bed. My only advice is intending users shouldn't waste money doing all the tests in Nigeria because he may still ask you to rerun like 80% of it. So just do a few. I wasted some cash on this already. All in all its been fun."

@Tvegas: Good to hear your own POE experience, I am sure your Americana baby go know say him papa dey town. My wife's next appointment with Dr. Fagbohun is this Wednesday, it won't be bad if you guys can form a small naija-Fagbohun football team o. I'll send a PM to you.

Please where's your wife staying in Houston, TX? I'm looking for somewhere for my cousin to stay; she wants to come in after Xmas, and will be seeing Dr. Fagbohun as well.

Gd evening all,
In my own opinion; I think there's a quota of non-immigrant visas issued to Nigerians annually. So chances of being issued visa towards d end of d year beckmes slim. So d best bet is to apply early in d year...
My opinion oooooo.

Lol, This is a Myth except there is hard data to back it up. A similar myth is that there is a maximum number of visas that can be issued per day. There are so many myths being peddled about this US NIV, my view is just to be well prepared and trust God for favor.

How you dey? You can mention the various costs without sounding like a marketer. You might be indirectly helping someone. I Just didn't wanna mention accomodation and car rentals but I will fully critique my hospital here later.

Hi Everyone. I have been following this thread for a while now without commenting. I got my visa this morning in Lagos thanks to all the valuable information i got from this forum. I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has selflessly contributed to this forum.

My interview went as follows;
VO: are you here alone? shouldn't there be others?
Me: No, I am here with my husband, baby and mum (My husband was trying to carry my son who was sleeping on my mum,s lap. They wasted a little bit of time so I got to the interview window before them)
After they arrived, we continued.
VO: So whats the relationship between every body as i see different surnames?
Me: (started pointing to every one) This is my Husband, that's our baby, and then My Mum. The surname on my passport is my maiden name as I was not married when i got the passport.
VO: so is everyone traveling to the US?
Me: Yes. I am going to have my baby. I will be going with my baby and my Mum in march, My mum is to assist me while i am there. my husband will join us when the baby arrives.
VO: OK. so have you contacted any hospital
Me: yes Oakbend Medical clinic in Houston Texas.
VO: what made you settle for this hospital?
Me: I did an online research and chose this one based on positive reviews i read about them
VO: where do you work and as what??
Me: i work at ******* and as a ******
VO: where did you school?
Me: I did my first degree at ***** and my second degree at *****
VO: to my Husband- whats your profession and where do you work?
DH: I am **** and I work with ****
VO to DH : what exactly does your company do
DH: we are a conglomerate into *******
VO: asks DH to scan his fingers
VO to me : you have been to the US before right?
Me: yes, in 2010 ( I had misplaced the passport in which the visa was stamped)
You went for a conference right?
Me: Yes
VO: how long did you stay?
Me: two weeks.
VO: do you have a cost estimate for this trip
Me: Yes. (handed him the budget sheet i prepared with tips gotten from this forum)
VO. (scans through) then said, you qualify for this visa but you have to know that this cost estimates is very small. you may end up paying more than five times this amount. so get yourself prepared for it.
Me: Ok. will do.
VO: types something in the PC. and then asks me and my mum to scan our fingers. he then handed me the passport collection letter and asks me to collect our passport on Tuesday.

That was it folks! It didn't last more than five minutes. he didn't even ask if i have booked appointment with any doctor or look at our bank statements.

Thanks again to every one.
Meanwhile I am heading to Houston early March (i am due early April). Will most likely use Oakbend hospital. anyone with shared accommodation should pls contact me. I will be going with my mum and baby.

Thanks in advance.

Congratulations, pls I want to know if you schedule appointment together as a family?please house I don't mind replies from anyone in the house.thanks

Lol when I dey tell una say BA is the worst airline flying to naija, una no wan hear. The days of BA being the best, has long gone. It's like they send their worst planes and hostesses to Nigeria. It's terrible!

To be honest I use them because I am on their flying club something (due to work trips) , paid just 181k for the ticket so nothing spoil grin

It's official, from anonymousmum's testimony, BA is a definite no no for me. Make I go pay for my emirates jeje.

haha, but that emirates route is loong o! 7hrs to Dubai, and 15hrs to America, not counting layover...I have done it before and mehn, was not funny! Coming back was more frustrating...I can just imagine with a baby in tow...

Was just wondering,is there a reason people dont like flying Delta or united? Because for me personally, nothing beats direct flight. O ! Its just that on this particular trip i have something to pick up in Duba, thats why i'm flying Emirate

This is not a myth. I know this for a fact that at least from a UK VO that they have yearly quota per country and when they reach that quota, they only grant for exceptional cases so I belive this approach is taken by US and other countries
And come to think of it, it is a very scientific way as you cannot keep it open ended as each nation has to control the limit of immigrant(be it temporary or permanent)

If you fly direct, there is the tendency that immigration officers are fully prepared for a plane load of Nigerians, coming from Nigeria. Do the maths.

Houston Methodist is particularly good.

Choose the most senior doctor.
