All 16bars or 500 bars (Like tha game) should b about that.. That's the
essence of rap Word play.. since I can't get it with upstream records I
just listen to downstream mixtapes, rap battles, etc [/quote] 2pac uses little or no punchlines nd wordplay yet his one of d greatest rapper. listern to MI "bROTHER" n Dagrin "Ghetto Dreams" this are songs wif less punchlines n wordplay buh yet dy are a vewi good rap songs. punhlines n worplays are mostly needed in a rap battle on in a mixtape.ur ability to tell story dt touches makes u a good rapper bro nt abt punchlines n wordplays!

Modo the only hip hop boko I know, just because he is not winning territories doesn't mean he is loosing the battles. Hip Hop is nt complete like this set of human being in nigeria or else nigeria hip hop would ve gone to the dogs. He is still kipping the books clean @least we ve sumfin to fallback to wen we gt tired of the gabbage we claim is Hip hop. Thanks Modo for being strong in a society that is promiscuous like ours.

ave said it befor, olamide and drake are in the same league..they are singers..the last rap songs from olamide is ''SITTING ON THE THRONE&DOPE MONEY''
before i listen to olamide's Song,i know his rap pattern&flow.his too predictable..a rapper is suppose to be versatile&flexible&ola is not
Re: “i’m Not Hungry But I’m Not Very Comfortable” – Mode Nine by 100Cents: 11:17am On Dec 24, 2014
He is not flexible ..

All about life is, " WHAT WORKS ".

No one asks you how you did it.

Just make it work... Produce results. He should stop winning. Everyone has regrets..

He isn't a flexible artist or he simply lacks sufficient talent..He should learn from RUGGEDMAN
Re: “i’m Not Hungry But I’m Not Very Comfortable” – Mode Nine by 100Cents: 11:27am On Dec 24, 2014
Or he should better approach Don Jazzy to shine and direct his talent.

Don baba J knows what to do if the rap artist can humble himself..

Lets face the truth..modenine has gone wack.
he went from spitting lines like "lyrically i'm at your funeral smiling and singing hymns", "i'm so underground the devil be like who's down there"

to vomitting lines like "i'm marvelous,no benji" "fake rappers try to run the game getting muscle pull"

''Not selling out'' what ? Look Hip hop is America not Nigeria, so if a people do not want to embrace a thing, simply change if you want there attention.
Remember, music in American is revolutionalizing too, at one point it was classical music, now is Hip hop or R&B.

Do you in any way understand "true art"?

Sorry can you tell me anything that doesn't undergo ''transition'' or better still upgrade. There's this saying, that ''change is constant''... Even your so called True Art is subject to change to make it better.

By calling him a 'rascal' I meant his musical persona not him as a person. Ya Olamide is more sellable, just like Lil'wayne will bemore sellable compared to say, KRS-ONE or Immortal Technique. U knw why? Simply, because our generation (noughties till 2014) for some reason, like trash... They are very comfortable hearing these 'bubble-gum' rappers (calling themselves MCs) spit wack and call it hip hop. And worse of all, in the most unintelligible way. Yea 'trash talk' is in vogue nw, just like same-sex and other whatnots goin on. U get ma drift?

Music is defined as organised noise that is pleasing to the ear. So... The people define what suits them, not the dictionary or Mode 9. The hip hop legend 2pac, cannot be compared to mode 9 ,yet he has this line in his lyrics .

''They just don't give a Bleep I gotta give my Bleep offs Bleep you to the San Fransisco police department
Bleep you to the Marin County Sheriff department
Bleep you to the F.B.I
Bleep you to the C.I.A
Bleep you to the B-u-s-h
Bleep you to the AmeriKKKa Bleep you to all you redneck prejudiced motherfuckers
And Bleep yah
Bleep Y'all
Punk, gay, sensitive, little-dicked bastards
2paclypse mutha fuckin' know
Y'all can kiss my ass and suck my dick And my uncle Tommy's balls
Bleep Y'all
Punks, punks, punks, punks, punks''
So are you calling 2Pac wack too?

If he sang exactly that anytime he's on the mic, then yea, I will call him wack. Bragging about money (that u dnt have), cars (u probably borrowed for ur music vid), banging gals and drinking all de liquor in de world is a chore to listen to. And these wacky dudes deliver these themes in de most unintelligible way ever. If it appeals to you, I got no p with that (heck! I love bands like metallica and nirvana), but if by any way u then label it as good music or the rappers as "greatest rappers", like those f****ing fanboys do, then I think you need to be enlightened...

l've always maintained this philosophy, ''that definition is personal'', am not a fan of 2Pac, but he's a rap legend.
Secondly, am a fan of decent R & B, l love Lionel Riche,John Legend and James Blunt.
Nobody is asking Mode 9 to use the F word in his songs, but rather make commercial songs, the people making this request are his fans

The very best to have ever come out of Naija. Your style always reminds of Christopher Wallace, the legendary Biggy smalls ! Unfortunately what the present generation appreciates is noise rather than good music. As I type this,I'm listening to and enjoying 'Cry". Do not relent,God will reward you at the appropriate time. You are the best.

How does Modenine's style remind of the Notorious one? Flow?Wit? Punchline? Picture painting lyrics?
