@TeHN....yet again....did NY find the source of the cancer?....if not why not? At this critical point we need to be transparent.

Answers to some of the questions we asked the Dr treating him

How do you know which chemo drugs to use bearing in mind we don’t know where the cancer is coming from? –
They know from the ascetic fluid cytology report that the cancer is an adenocarcinoma. Chemo is systemic and they will use the drug that kills adenocarcinomas. According to him, adenocarcinomas usually come from the liver and the colon and since the colon is clear (from colposcopy results) its more likely from the liver and from previous results a mass was seen in the liver

How will you know for certain that it’s from the liver
A liver biopsy would give a 100% result, but they have no intention of further distressing the patient by doing a liver biopsy as they already have all the info that they need

Should Hameed still be on Anti TB drugs with the Chemo
Yes! – This is one of the reasons they contacted USA to get a steer on this and the US have advised that he continues with the anti TB drugs. The TB drugs are antibiotics and so he can’t stop them mid-way and he needs to complete the course.

To be honest we don't know just yet. We have a quote from LCC which will definitely deplete the budget hence why we are looking at other alternatives before committing ourselves.

We are hoping to come up with an option paper within the next day or two so everyone can decide on best way forward.

Blessed Mother just sent a donation of $350 to specifically help cater for DJ's mum.
An annoynmous NLer has also agreed to add the extra N30K.

Our acountant will make the funds available ASAP

Thanks blessed mother for your support

BlessedMother and Anonymous you will be blessed beyond measure. Thank You.

After reading Gbadexy's submission, I was going to call for a fund raise specifically for Mama. I understand TeHN's position but total healing also comes from the inside when your spirit is at rest. With this "settlement" for Mama, Dj will have lesser things to worry and be anxious about and healing I believe will be faster. Once again, God bless you Blessed Mother and Anonymous.

Knowledge is key. In a nutshell...cancer treatments involving chemo and drugs and surgeries have a 3% success rate in fighting off cancer over a period of 5 years. With similar cases...alternative treatments have as much as a 90% success rate in fighting off and getting rid of the cancer within 5 years. The treatment I'm looking at is basically home made and use locally available materials....aloe aborescens (a plant) and raw honey as the main ingredients. How it works is that the cancer cells open up to accept the honey and the aloe ...the cancer cell killer/neutralizer then enters. The result is that the cancer cells are either killed or revert to normal cells. This is why I am suggesting we consider this way forward.

ok! i get you. l've actually done some research on similar formulation involving sodium bicarbonate and honey or molasses.
The explanation being that the sodium bicarbonate which is alkaline binds with the honey and cancer cells which happen to have insatiable need for sugar consumes the
chemically bonded honey or molasses much like a trojan horse. The honey acts as the carrier for the alkaline bicarbonate into the cancer cells and it neutralises the acidic free radicals that does the damages.
l've done samples and used personally although not for any ailment but simply to reduce the ph of my system. And l know such mixtures need to be used with caution especially for those with blood pressure as the bicarbonate is a sodium salt. l bet what you mix with the honey is an alkaline compound.
There is actually no harm in trying it with supervision of medical practitioner to ensure the maximum recommended sodium salt intake isnt exceeded.

There is no reason why that life support hospital that milked about 1 million of the money should still be in business
When LUTH and the Eruwa doctors stated /suspected by minimal testing that this patient had a chronic liver condition, those folks and their fake labs gave his liver a clean bill of health even when the clinical signs said otherwise
Sorry folks, reading this just makes me angry all over again

Its not their fault. May God not let us see what will take us to these private Nigerian hospitals where money is more important than the patient's health. cry

Also, what do you think about the alternative methods being suggested by gbadesxy and originalsy?

True. Cancer Tutor gave an outline about that...and some directions to treating oneself....even in stage 4 cancer...any cancer except brain cancer which is more complicated to treat. However....they have a book with detailed instructions on how to prepare the treatment to get the maximum effect .....like when and how to prepare the aloe etc. The thing is this treatment is cheap ...pain free and has very little side effects if any. Most of us may not know of any other treatment because the cancer industry has used it's resources to continue the propaganda that chemo and pharmaceuticals are the only way. I'm surprised to learn that you been using a form of this treatment!

Bro...please...we were told a 40 page report of the tests and whatever was sent to NY for a second opinion. I am asking if from the info you guys sent....if NY was able to pinpoint the source of the cancer. Why would you give the above response about what you asked and what the local doctor said? ...why evade the question? ...why continue to play hide and seek with crucial information that can make the picture clear and for us to move forward?

i dont use it as any form of treatment. l just did some research on blood ph and some natural means to keep it slightly alkaline and safe.
l bet that could pass for preventive medication or just plain food supplement and not treatment.
Basically three part of honey or molasses to one part of sodium bicarbonate and like 2 teaspooon daily.
l just used it briefly a couple years ago but didnt follow up on it.

The LCC doctors consulted their counterparts in NY. They must have sent the CT scan alongside lab results to them.

DJ has spoken out on what he is most stressed about....his mother...and has finally summoned the strength and the courage to let us know. I think under the present circumstances.....we should make like gbad suggested......N100 000 be available to her immediately. That is a small amount to allocate for stabalising his mental health whi h has an effect on his physical health. if anyone donated and oppose this then I ask that you say so....if not I take it that we agree and whoever is holding the purse strings should release the amount and let it reflect in the next update.

Dear Stakeholders

We would like to invite each and every one of you that has a stake in the “Get DJ back to his feet” project to help decide on way forward with regards to DJ’s treatment plan. We have managed to come up with options for you to consider and we will be capturing your inputs for the next 24hrs so we can finally have a definitive plan on way forward.

Recap on where we are at:

DJ has been sick for a long time and unfortunately has ‎now been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The oncologist at LCC in conjunction with their colleagues in NY has suggested a targeted form of chemotherapy as a means of ensuring quality of life as cure.

The LCC hospital has come up with a quote (Please see attached image) for DJ’s suggested treatment and they’ve recommended that it’s the best way forward.

Options for you to consider

1)      Continue with the treatment plan at LCC: This is the recommended plan by his doctors as they strongly believe it’s the best way to ensure reduction in pain whilst he maintains reasonable quality of life going forward.

He is to undergo a light chemotherapy session for 6 cycles (1 cycle every 3 weeks for 18 weeks).

The cost implication for the proposed treatment plan for the entire 18 weeks is a little over a million (We expect to have some reduction as some of the tests wouldn’t be repeated for each cycle)

2)      Use a cheaper public hospital as an alternative to option 1:   TeHN has already investigated this option before drafting this option paper. Our field worker alongside DJ went to LUTH today (26/01/2015) to investigate the possibility of DJ having his chemo sessions at the hospital.

Challenges:
a)       LUTH will require referral from his prior hospital before he can be considered for the proposed treatment
b)      They are currently impeded by the ongoing strike hence why they can only consult at this point in time
c)       He might need to redo some of the tests and this will certainly incur more costs and in turn further deplete the already tight budget

3)      Investigate the alternative treatment option as suggested on this thread: There are various challenges that will be faced with this option
a)      Time – DJ is still very sick and we don’t think it’s in his best interest to try alternative treatments when there are obvious outside factors such as environment factors, availability of emergency services should in case things turns sour
b)      Resources – We simply don’t have the capacity to support this option
c)       It’s also hard to go against recommendations  made by 4 medical experts that have looked at his case at various times

4)      Re-visit overseas treatment option – TeHN is of the believe that there isn’t much to gain from this option if as suspected the case is at stage 4 and the only effective treatment option is targeted chemotherapy to the affected regions

Challenges:
a)      Money – We simply don’t have a blank cheque and as such have to be practical before uprooting him into an unknown territory. As expected, if the minimum period required for his treatment is 18 weeks, we will have to provide financial support sufficient enough for them to survive for the entire period alongside whatever cost the treatment will incur
b)       Support – Support might not be readily available in a foreign land should In case things doesn’t go as planned

Lastly, TeHN would like to take a step back as we simply don’t have the resource to continue to help manage the case going forward.  In light of this, we would also like you to consider and endorse your preferred choice on how the case is managed going forward

Option A
To delegate all responsibility to DJ’s brother – DJ’s brother has been extremely helpful all through the way and he is conversant with all processes as well as locations.
TeHN would transfer the remaining budget to DJ’s family and whatever support we might have as a group will be provided as individuals as of when needed

Option B
NLers to come up with a dedicated project team that’s capable of moving the project forward -
TeHN would be able to provide mechanism for funds collection and disbursement with this option but our involvement will be restricted to that alone

We would like to thank each and every one for their support.

TeHN

You always talk about the four doctors on team TeHN and how can you guys not ask about what NY said bout the source?
