What type of breed is your dog? Short or long coat? Your dog is shedding which is normal for some breed.
Malnutrition is also a factor for excessive shedding. Just answer my question with the age if your dog and I will know how to help.

Thanks for your reply, I feed d dog three times a day which d dog became very lazy and always sleeping, so I was advice to feed him less which I than feed him once a day. Can that be the cause or is there something else? Please do advice me further on this issue. Thanks.

Choice of dewormer matters too...it's always advisable to leave the job of deforming to a good vet, for a novice.

Shedding is also a reason. As gsds are heavy shedders.

If both are in place, then feeding a meal rich in omega-3 fats is advisable.

I have done that which d vet did sometime last year. All I did was to stop the vet from coming this year for I felt they is no need to give the dog injection almost every month. Can that also be the cause ? for the vet came around about three times last year to inject the dog. Please do advice. Thanks.

Unfortunately you didn't answer my question but looking at your dog, shedding is normal for the breed and if you groom your dog regularly , perhaps it could be worms it malnutrition. Why will vet inject your dog regularly? What for when he is not sick. It would help me a lot if you can let me know what you are feeding and how u are doing it.

Please go back to feeding him 3 times a day as soon as possible. If you don't give your dog enough food at this stage, he won't grow well. What kind of food do you give him and how much of it do you feed him per meal. Going from 3 meals a day to 1 instead of 2 is very funny to me.

Your dog is a puppy and what does puppy do? Sleeeeps. Switch your dog to 2 times per day and you can divide the quantity of the food you are feeding once provided its enough.

Padi, my honest advice is call your vet again. You'll only get confused if u keep asking questions here. Everyone with their different views.

Ur dog is ok. Depending on what you feed, make sure it's high in protein. And make sure ur dog is satisfied.

Get coconut oil, give her/him a spoonful morning and night and see the difference in the skin.

Get a dog's comb, groom regularly to take off old hair and allow new ones grow. Sometimes it's just a grooming issue.

Lastly, Ure new at this, get a good vet. Better safe than sorry.

Now get off ds thread and go get something done.

1) remove any form of salt or extra spice from your dogs food.

2) Get cod liver oil syrup, due to the bitterness, get an injection remove the needle, and use the plastic inject from the side of ur dogs mouth every morning or atleast once a day. or get the tablet and give your dog.

How can feed a 5 months old large breed puppy once a day, that is sheer wickedness. You are supposed to feed your dog three times a day for the first 9 months, then twice till the dog is 2yrs of age. From 2ys you can feed them once a day as adult dogs are less active than pups and adolescent dogs, get good puppy food and feed your dog properly.

Let him get a vet na, his vet will advice him on d feeding schedule.

To me, he is willing to do whatever, he just didn't do enough research before getting a dog.

So his vet is in a better position to advice.
