The race between President Goodluck Jonathan of the ruling PDP and Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition APC for Nigeria’s presidency is too close to call, a survey by an African-led, non-partisan research network, Afrobarometer has indicated.

Afrobarometer, which made public the result of its research on the forthcoming presidential election in Nigeria, said the survey which it conducted two months before the elections showed a highly competitive political field with much uncertainty about the prospects for credible and peaceful polls and about the outcome of the elections.
“Nigerians are ready for the election, with 78 percent expressing an intention to vote. But the outcome remains too close to call, especially given the fluidity of the current election environment. The PDP and the APC are neck-to-neck, with each party favoured by 42 percent of likely voters,” the reported said.
It said while most Nigerians looked forward to voting and believed that INEC was prepared. Many also express uncertainty about the likely integrity of the vote count and concerns about their personal security the network said.
It added that it interviewed 2,400 adult Nigerians between December5 and 27 2014, covering 33 of the 36 states as well as the FCT but added it was not possible to conduct interviews in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe States, due to unrest in the region.
It said key findings by the network in its research indicated that Nigerians are generally dissatisfied with current economic conditions and the government’s performance on key issues.
Afrobarometer is an African-led, non-partisan research network that conducts public attitude surveys on democracy, governance, economic conditions, and related issues across more than 30 countries in Africa.

Considering most northerners were too scared to say they'd vote PDP, I believe this election is going to be a walk over. Let Buhari win online election and get all the likes he can on the internet.

No need for internet meaningless votes.

When Gej is declared the winner as expected I urge gullible Nigerian youths not to heed the call by
those whose children stays in Europe but ready to use you as canon fodder.

In the core north, research has proven the security services are prepared to deal ruthlessly with those hell bent on fermenting trouble, a repeat of 2011 is not an option.

For those in the SW, forget it, Mbu is in Lagos for a reason...enough said.

GEJ's biggest undoing will be believing the BS you people are selling to him. Forget the North, if Buhari could get 13 million votes with CPC, he has no problem getting a huge number in the north in this election, the decided is the South West.

You call it BS but this survey was carried out in 33 states by a non partisan foreign organisation outside the influence of PDP.
Elections are not won on the internet.

Shame on those who'd allow politicians to use them as canon fodder after GEJ is declared winner.

Remove the South West cos GEJ will lose there but do you believe GEJ will win the North with folks like FFK and Fayose continually insulting them? You honestly believe the North will vote GEJ when he has failed to protect them? I hope you guys are not hinging this election on a few almajiri schools ooo.

The presidents men have been playing the ethno-religious card since. That is why they will lose

People actually believe GEJ will lose in the South West because of a particular tribe or something but they don't remember that this same tribes actually marched in support of GEJ when his predecessor died. It is a show of how much they have lost faith in him

Do you sincerely believe Buhari would win in Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Adamawa etc, bros the north is not only Sokoto state and Kano.

Meanwhile in the SW yesterday, Akure stood still.
