Ballots meant for the Nigerian presidential election were found yesterday at the premises of a local printer in the Essex area of LONDON.

Our sources said the sensitive election materials, which ought to have arrived in NIGERIA earlier in the week, were unsecured at the premises of Panther Printing Services in LONDON. SaharaReporters was able to confirm that a Nigerian firm named Cemoz International Limited had been contracted to print some ballot papers for the 2015 presidential elections.

A spokesman for the Independent National Electoral Commission, Kayode Idowu, confirmed to SaharaReporters that Cemoz International Limited was ONE of the firms awarded the contract to print ballot papers.

It appears that, upon GETTING the contract, Cemoz went SHOPPING for printers in LONDON to print the ballot papers and then contracted these other printers to serially number the ballot papers. Although the ballot papers for the presidential elections for several southwest states were seen lying around the premises of the printing company in Essex, a staff at the company, speaking to a correspondent of SaharaReporters, said the firm only had the contract to print some of the ballot papers for Jigawa State. Thinking that our correspondent worked for Cemoz, the representative of the Essex-based company asked if we could give them more jobs, adding that their company had mastered how to print ballot papers.

SaharaReporters later obtained a bill of lading showing that Cemoz planned to ship the ballot papers to NIGERIA a few hours before February 14th, the day initially sect aside for the presidential election. INEC subsequently postponed the election for six weeks.

No....for once I am going to blame the PDP govt.

We have a Mint that once upon a time printed every Naira note and every security paper in the country. Including ballots. Now....it can no longer handle local demand....so we have to go abroad.

I seem to recall some years ago the late Abubakar Rimi...chair of the board at NSPMC (the Mint) complaining that it was not being well funded. No one did anything. Now...look at where we are.

This govt has failed in this regard. If we cannot print such materials at home...then what do we have a mint for? Why can't our mint be properly funded? Transformation agenda cannot extend to printing of security materiel like ballots?

What did he do when Jega was appointing mostly northerners into the most sensitive positions in inec ? What did he do when inec officials were dumping the PVC's in the palace of the emirs? I know as the sitting president he has numerous issues of state to attend to than spend all his time seeking re-election unlike the opposition who has nothing doing than campaign on how to grab power by any means possible, Jonathan trusted too much and stomached too much from his detractors to the extent of been called weak. Bros, Nigeria is not mature and enlightened enough to appreciate such gentleman as leaders in a country where some claim they are born to rule! Jonathan trusted too much!! He has learned his lessons tho.

What a silly excuse , the matter is that Jega might be above his head in INEC , but he has benefited PDP in the past but might feel uneasy about helping them rig the biggest election in Nigerian history and he has become their enemy immediately.

Jega is like many other civil service execs incompetent and not willing to employ dynamic reasoning all the time. I do hope GMB/Osinbajo and subsequent APC governments can bring back competence and desire to excellent to the civil service

Guy, are you and others who have mentioned APC on crack? These very sensitive print material ( ballot papers) were found outside the premises of the subcontractor to one of the firms officially contracted by INEC to print the Nigerian 2015 election material and you are here blabbing about APC inanely. Do you guys ever use your senses at all? Can you ever think and comment ike responsible adults? Is APC now responsible for hiring contractors for INEC? You guys do not even see, in your haste to always defend the PDP, how you write as if the APC is the powerful ruling Party and the PDP is the cowering and weak opposition.

SaharaReporters was able to confirm that a Nigerian firm named Cemoz International Limited had been contracted to print some ballot papers for the 2015 presidential elections.

Indeed. Why is everything to do with Nigeria always tainted with fraud, indolence, overt criminality and the personal desire for self-aggrandizement ? Why on earth will the contract for printing Nigerian election ballot paper be handed to a company who then subcontracts to another firm? Why did INEC not ensure only security printers of the highest standing and credibility handle this aspect of things? Jega is to be blamed for this. If this report is to be believed, then it even appears there is a plan to rig the pivotal SW with how ballot paper for SW States were seen only for an employeeof the London printing subcontractor to deny this and claim they were only printing ballot material for Jigawa.
